John Marino (NJ6) stepped it up, although the Devils ultimately lost, in NJ's 6-3 loss to WSH. He had two primary assists with a 74% xGF%, playing lots of shorthanded time too. Here are his most notable plays and puck touches from last night. #NJDevils #NHLPotN

Hard to think of a recent Stanley Cup champion as dominant as the Avalanche were throughout this run. Played fun, uptempo hockey. Prioritized speed at every position. Never found a playoff opponent that could hit their fastball.

In the first 4 games of their first round series against Detroit in 06, the Oilers had 27 power plays. They had 11 in 4 games against Winnipeg and if you go back and watch those 06 games, you'll see how much space was out there because they bothered to call the rule book.

Empty net goals really shouldn’t count as goals for players. They should be recorded like team penalties are. Credited to the team only.

Counterargument: It's pretty easy to not do. And it makes the D actually have to clear the puck. I've never minded this rule.

shots/game are down the last 2 seasons, goals/game and goals/shot are up. the shot quantity <--> shot quality equilibrium has shifted a bit

why would that be weird. he’s had plenty of experience watching leafs games in the playoffs the last two years
Kadri said he took several days to contemplate going to Calgary in a trade and said he was close to saying yes. But he didn’t think he was being shopped around and hoped saying no would mean staying in Toronto. Said it was weird to watch the Leafs game last night.
