I wanted to be a Navy fighter pilot.

To secure a Navy flight contract, I sought an appointment at the US Naval Academy, where the most slots were available. I was admittedly terrified of the Marines at first. With time, fear shifted to curiosity, and then to admiration. The Marine instructors’ unwavering standards, unmatched fitness, and next-level display of pride and professionalism were something I came to deeply respect. It became less about “what” I wanted to do and more about “who” I aspired to become.
When I was assigned “Marine Pilot” at service selection, I was thrilled. Just weeks before graduation, I was medically disqualified. What felt like rejection at the time turned out to be one of the most magnificent redirections of my life. I cannot imagine landing in a specialty better aligned with my passions and am grateful for the time spent with the Marine Corps COMMSTRAT community.
Much like the story shared here, my journey in the military wasn’t what I originally envisioned, but it led me to become the person I’m proud to be today.
What Made You Want to Join The Military?
When I was a kid, my dad would tell me about all his adventures in the Army. All the places he got to see, all the things he got to do, all the people he got to meet.
I was always fascinated by the military, but wasn't sure it was for me. 16 years later, it was the best choice I've ever made. It gave me purpose, discipline, and drive. I have lifelong friend and have learned a craft.
I started as a private living in the barracks without a college degree. The Army paid for my education, allowed me to commission as an officer and now I own a house.
Hopefully the stories I tell here make people realize that there is more to the people in the military than they realize.

Interesting story here… Mom joined Navy a year prior to her daughter. One on the Ford, the other on Ike, both same rank. Incredible!

The most common type of photographic misinformation I have encountered is the direct result of the Broken Telephone Effect.
It's simple, it's easy to mess up, and it can lead to atrocity denial.
A thread.

Military leaders should not fear putting themselves out there. But remember Rule #1: Talk less about yourself and more about the under-appreciated warriors who are working hard and sweating with little pay in the most inhospitable places on the planet. They are the future of our republic. #ThisIstheWay

In an effort to save civilian mariner lives, CENTCOM forces destroyed two Houthi uncrewed surface vessels (USV), one uncrewed aerial system (UAS), and seven coastal radars yesterday.
June 14 U.S. Central Command Update
In the past 24 hours, U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) forces successfully destroyed two Houthi uncrewed surface vessels (USV) in the Red Sea.
Additionally, USCENTCOM forces successfully destroyed one uncrewed aerial system (UAS) launched from a Houthi controlled area of Yemen over the Red Sea.
Separately, USCENTCOM forces successfully destroyed seven Iranian-backed Houthi radars in a Houthi controlled area in Yemen. These radars allow the Houthis to target maritime vessels and endanger commercial shipping.
It was determined these systems presented an imminent threat to U.S., coalition forces, and merchant vessels in the region. This action was taken to protect freedom of navigation and make international waters safer and more secure for U.S., coalition, and merchant vessels.
