i wish men could see themselves the way i see them. they’re so sexy and handsome and there’s so much delicious variety in their bodies and personalities and it’s all so achingly endearing and fascinating. i love catching that glimpse of almost concealed emotion that it seems like nobody else noticed. i love the way their hands move. i love their body hair and the texture of their skin. those super subtle facial expressions and eye crinkles and omg their fucking forearms. and somehow they all seem to have no idea how mindblowingly hot they are when they cum. like, i have seen a LOT of different guys cum and it is never not extremely sexy. idk what kind of mass conspiracy is going on in the world to keep guys down by convincing them their orgasms are ugly or gross or goofy or whatever but i’m going to keep trying to defeat it because it is sooooooo untrue. dudegasms are one of the most beautiful things on the planet and i wish more guys knew that.

LADIES
THERE IS NO SECRET
WHEN THE BOYS ARE INTO BORING SHIT AND STICKING WITH IT MUCH LONGER THAN YOU THINK IS REASONABLE
THERE IS NO SECRET
THEY ARE NOT FINDING ANYTHING SPECIAL IN THE TWENTIETH ITERATION OF WHATEVER BULLSHIT THEY'RE ON ABOUT. IT'S THE SAME AS THE PREVIOUS NINETEEN TIMES.
AND THEY'RE HAPPY DOING IT.
IF YOU'RE NOT
IT'S FINE
NO NEED FOR FOMO
THEY'RE REALLY REALLY JUST DOING THE SAME THING AGAIN
WAR. PROGRAMMING. BOATS. THEY WILL DO THE SAME THING THEY WERE JUST DOING, AGAIN, LONG LONG AFTER I WOULD HAVE SNAPPED AND KILLED THAT JACKASS THEY'RE ALL LISTENING TO FOR SOME REASON.
FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE I AM NOT ENVIOUS OF MEN. I WOULD KILL A BITCH AND BE DONE. THAT MOVIE WOULD HAVE BEEN 45 MINUTES LONG IF I'D BEEN ON THE BOAT. I DO NOT WANT THE ENDOCRINOLOGICAL MAKEUP THAT WOULD MAKE ME INCLINED TO PUT UP WITH RUSSELL CROWE'S BULLSHIT ONE SECOND LONGER THAN ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY
AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON NAPOLEON
"WE HAVE TO GO TO WAR BC NAPOLEON MADE HIMSELF KING OF EUROPE" WELL WHY DID HE GO DO A RETARDED THING LIKE THAT. WHAT COULD HE POSSIBLY GAIN.
NOT THAT I WANT WOMEN IN CHARGE. MY GOD. IT'S NOT THAT WE AREN'T CAPABLE IT'S JUST THAT WE HAVE A TENDENCY TO GET A LITTLE CREEPY
BEING ONE HALF OF A MARRIED COUPLE AND HAVING GIVEN BIRTH TO SONS AND A DAUGHTER, I FEEL I AM CLOSER TO A NEUTRAL GENDER EXPERIENCE THAN I EVER HAVE BEEN BEFORE AND YOU KNOW WHAT.
BOTH SIDES ARE RETARDED.
THAT'S IT THATS THE SECRET IF YOU LET MEN DO THEIR THING TOO LONG YOU GET MONKEYPOX AND NAPOLEON. YOU LET WOMEN GO TOO LONG SOLO AND YOU GET THE FUCKING. WHAT WAS IT. SECULAR HIJABI COVID FRIENDLY BAR. PSYCHOLOGICAL TORTURE. AND NO SEX. IN THE LONG RUN. I'M TOLD.

kissing is wonderful. everything about it, in each form. a unique type of warmth. maybe because on surface it's so simple people tend to forget how sacred an intimacy it is

Can you imagine that we just brought 8 families and their kids from 4 different countries together to a Spanish villa for a week and had a blast? We only knew each other from Twitter before. It was so much better than vacationing just with our kids.
Nothing has ever kept my children entertained like a critical mass of other kids to swarm around with and do their kids stuff together. There's no playground, water park, toy, or TV show that could possibly compare to this. At TribeCamp we did not even have a playground, but it turned out not to be necessary. A swimming pool and other kids around was enough to keep everyone occupied most of the time, with the older ones leading the young.
There were 13 kids, the youngest baby turned one on the last day, which we celebrated with baking cake and throwing a dance party. The oldest two were both 11. Toddlers played with their toy trucks right alongside the tweens painting their Warhammer figurines. Everyone looked up to the slightly older kids, and gently guided the slightly younger ones, teaching them whatever they were doing.
My children are not yet fluent in English, and in the beginning navigating the social dynamics was a bit of a challenge. What helped them was going on day trips in smaller groups, and helping out babies and toddlers whose play is mostly nonverbal. With other moms we looked for things they could do together with everyone else, like going on a treasure hunt, or starting a pillow fight. Eventually my kids did become a part of the swarm, just before we had to wrap up and leave. Perhaps some bonding activities early on could have helped them fully belong to the group earlier.
We all took turns in the kitchen, prepping food and cleaning up. It was more smooth than I expected, the hosts had prepared us some scalable and easy to follow recipes and skillfully stocked the pantry. Most of the time kids were not adventurous enough to try whatever we were eating and stuck with just plain pasta or rice with ketchup. Nobody seemed to be bothered much by this. Any nutrients that they were lacking, they probably made up for in milk. We ran out of our milk supply already on the second morning, and had to restock it several times through the week.
Most other parents were my long time twitter mutuals, so I was not surprised that we had a lot in common. My husband, on the other hand, was somewhat surprised that he did. According to him, parents are much more grounded than the usual spiritual crowd that I tend to hang out with. Even when talking about AI and somewhat esoteric stuff, the conversations were much more rooted in reality.
My favorite part of this trip were activities proposed and led by older kids. One of them suggested we tie dye some clothes together. Even though we did not manage to buy appropriate t-shirts on time, tie dye socks came out pretty interesting too. Another kid taught all of us adults how to draw and shade a dragon, which we've already practiced again back at home. It was so amazing to catch a glimpse of their world, what they were passionate about, and see what my kids might become in a few years from now.
Before the camp began, I dreamed of leaving the property better than we found it, maybe building a treehouse somewhere so that future guests could use it. Near the end I was just hoping that we don't leave it much worse. Modeling clay and tie dye stains turned out to be quite difficult to remove from surfaces, and all the sidewalk chalk we bought got broken into a million pieces that we kept finding everywhere. I wish I were more skilled at giving children creative freedom while keeping their messes contained, because moving all of the dirty play outdoors does not seem to be nearly enough.
Several people told me this week was the most relaxed they've been in years, with so many other children for their kids to play with, and so many other adults to lend a helping hand. Personally, I might have felt too responsible for how everything was going to fully relax. But I did have a fantastic time, and I'd love to do it again next year, ideally with some teenagers, young adults, and elders mixed in. Parenting young children is such a short stage in the life of a family. There is so much we could learn and benefit from all these other groups.
Many thanks to everyone who made it possible, to @RichDecibels and @LombardoNati who trusted us with their home, to @marinwaves who managed the kitchen logistics, @grin_io who did the spreadsheet magic, and @babieswithb who could not be there with us but inspired us in so many ways on how we could make this experience better for the tiniest people. I hope there will be many more TribeCamps to come, on many different continents, so that all of us can hang out together and recharge and let our children run around freely and find new friends from all around the world.

Oh nice. Definitely relates to what I mean when I talk about respecting distrust. If you can't promptly earn someone/something's trust, then necessarily you have something to learn from it—at least about the other, probably about yourself too! Or about how you're experienced.

actually therapy culture rejects much more than shame. it erases much of the masculine experience by combining real truths about trauma with feminine moral norms, then presenting the package as psychologically neutral.
to see what i mean, imagine a therapist saying: "next time that bully touches you, remember your training and choke him out. restoring agency, repairing status, and publicly demonstrating that you are not a target are important important parts of healing"
this therapist is actually more correct than the one who treats humiliation as a self-esteem internal problem to be managed instead of something to right in the world

a four-step plan for human alignment at scale that doesn't require the mentioning of sex or the erotic to be effective:
1. unshame reality
2. connect people with their innocence
3. open their hearts to themselves
4. open their hearts to others

Not only is it never too late to massively turn your life around, everyone wants you to
It’s easy to get caught up in shame and feel like you can’t admit your problems to the people in your life, but they generally know something is off even if they don’t know the details
And (generally, not without exception) they’re waiting for you to turn things around & will welcome you back warmly when it happens

When I think about masculinity and femininity, one of the synergistic patterns I see is:
Woman [inspires] man and elevates him to a higher level
Man [provides solidity] to woman and is her rock and interdependent grounding
Women: raise his ceiling
Men: raise her floor

I actually think that (with a small alteration) this graph shows the difference between kindness and niceness pretty well

You should think "if I were born in conservative Muslim culture in the 1500s, what type of cognitive rules would I need to have to realize my culture was insane", and then apply those exact rules to this current culture.

what i’ve seen from coaching a number of smart people, esp. those with meditation experience, is that there can be a window where someone’s general lvl of awareness* is high, but their compassion, forgiveness and love lvls are quite low
this can really suck: more is seen and yet it’s all interpreted through the lens of deficiency or ‘this is not ok’
if you find yourself in this place, i’d really recommend switching your focus and energy into cultivation practices: metta and forgiveness will do most of the heavy lifting. a daily gratitude practice will help too. give it at-least a month: it’s okay if at first metta just makes you cry or brings up sadness/grief/challenging emotions. see if it’s alright to just be with me, gently, patiently
*awareness lvl here = both their ability to direct attention at the subtle lvl and also more widely their self-awareness and understanding of their patterns, motivations and so on. the latter can be much higher than the norm

stillness is one of the more coarse/gross examples of this since it’s physical
i think one form of progress in meditation is noticing the subtler examples of the same motion/movement happening at different levels
breathing → following the breath
stilling the body → relaxing to stillness
focused attention ←→ open awareness
‘feeling’ emotions → noticing emotions

slutcon ended over a week ago but i wanted to reflect more on my experience. much of the writing around the event focused on its mechanics: the talks, the "flirt girls", the demographics of attendees, the cost, etc. all fine talking points but it's missing the forest for the trees if you ask me..
when the event ended, I felt as though I'd received a gift. like the event was this elaborately staged alternate reality meant to convey something important but was never explicitly stated. the more you'd explore, the more it'd tug at you. simply put, the space communicated: "we love men", "be authentic even if it's cringe", "it's okay to fail", "let's have fun".
these feels were there to normalize a relation that's gone askew. the male/female dynamic is caught in an unhealthy arms race. men want something (sex, validation, etc.) and have developed sophisticated ways to conceal their intent, and women have developed ways just as sophisticated to suss out intent and protect themselves from overreach. we've over-indexed on offense/defense and it's turned us into malformed creatures who cannot openly express our desires.
slutcon was staged de-escalation. men were asked to be honest about their intentions, own their potential rejection, and enjoy the process while letting go of the outcome. women were asked to meet that honesty with openness, be direct with their boundaries and engage generously. it was an experiment that put faith in us getting to a better place if we had more empathy.
the gift i felt at the end was feminine containment. the women were actively holding an emotional (and physical) space. in this space men could lean in to our charming selves because our fears were minimized. you feared rejection less because "we love men", you feared embarrassment less because "be authentic, even if it's cringe", you feared inadequacy less because "it's okay to fail". the space was beautiful, clean, filled with curious objects and a zillion cubbyholes. groups would materialized and evaporate and materialize again in new forms with virtually no cliques. it all created a sense of ease where the men stopped acting and the women were relieved. we could all just be.

Something I really enjoyed about slutcon. I found an overwhelming number of participants to be genuinely good men. they wanted women to have a good experience. They also wanted other men to have a good experience.
I found this to be very encouraging and consistently had thoughts that these guys can have an increasingly positive impact on the culture of relating between men and women.
the most consistent hang up I witnessed as a passer by, and in deeper conversations with them tho, was them struggling to believe that their desires would be additive and not subtractive to the lives of the flirt girls and everyone around them.
like, they struggled to see themselves (in a future sense, minds eye) creating more goodness, play, and juiciness. they tended to worry that they would somehow harm or bother or mess something up for the people around them.
when honestly, I saw them as much more likely to improve the lives of everyone they came into contact with, if only they let themselves believe that. and many of them did over the course of even a couple days
I left feeling more strongly than I already did that, if we can give these men their confidence back, or in some cases, give them confidence for the first time in their lives, our culture will be improved because of it
