@PrestvilleFarm shared some impressive results from their AAC Walker VB harvest, reporting great yields and high-quality #1 CWRS wheat, even in a season with limited moisture in their area. High yield, strong standability, and midge tolerance, this is one to keep on your radar.

The average British electricity bill has risen by £377 since 2018. Just £71 (19%) of that is due to higher gas prices to make the stuff. The other 81% (£306) is due to direct renewables subsidies, carbon taxes and having to rebuild the National Grid because all the windmills are in the North Sea... Thanks, as ever, to David Turver (@7kiwi) for the analysis and the chart!

Bill #C34 includes “digital safety commission” with powers to order social media platforms to remove “categories of harmful content.” Forbidden posts are those “undermining, weakening or destroying fundamental institutions or political, economic or social stability”
.@MarkJCarney says feds will press ahead with internet controls. Latest bill, the 3rd in 5 yrs, would regulate political speech in the name of "social stability." blacklocks.ca/must-regulate-…  #cdnpoli @CdnHeritage

Endless coal trains--150 cars long--are constantly feeding China's power plants. The generated electricity helps manufacture the solar panels later shipped to the West. Panels made with coal, transported on oil-burning ships, installed and called emissions-free. Asia, led by China and India, currently operates over 5,000 coal plants, with almost 1,000 more on the way. The West is doing the opposite. Europe has retired, cancelled or mothballed over 1,000 coal plants. China is building power, the West is dismantling it.

Spain is ripping out centuries-old olive groves for solar farms. In Andalusia, trees that took decades to reach maturity are being uprooted for panel arrays. This is a direct land-for-energy trade. 26 terawatt-hours of output from solar requires roughly 130,000 acres, whereas a modern nuclear plant would deliver that same power using just 430 acres. That is a land gap approaching 300 to 1 (and wind farms are even worse). Solar's footprint is not just panels. It is roads, fencing, substations, transmission lines and backup systems. Spain already stress-tested a high renewables grid. In April 2025, a nationwide blackout followed low grid inertia and heavy reliance on inverter-based generation. And now the Spanish government is doubling down on this failure.

I love this view. Flying over the Rockies on a gorgeous Sunday evening. The geological event that created these upthrusts always awes me.

Thanks for posting!, we are harvesting our AAC Walsh seed production right now and is performing great for us as well!
Here are the results from our Spring Wheat Variety Trial! This trial received 17 inches of rain in the month of June alone, so we’re pretty jazzed about the results. @FPGenetics @SeCan

Canada's invitation to be an Associate Member of the European Union would result in the loss in technologies farmers rely on to be profitable, as well as higher food prices for all consumers. Canada should reject this invitation. #thanksbutnothanks
Are the optics of political opportunity clouding the real barriers Canada faces with the EU? We think so. Read today's #ThrowbackThursday to learn how being an "associate member" could impact Canada's agricultural sustainability and food affordability - mailchi.mp/feb24cee7324/tbt-…
