Presenting AMBER - my award winning new short film that is now online. A contained thriller that’s my most ambitious film yet. We worked really hard on it, and I hope you guys like it. Do share it if you do :) youtu.be/Y5K_5KZkiOQ

Interesting to see a new type of horror fan take shape. Horror as "comfort food." They want their horror to be wholly "unproblematic," for everything on screen to align with their view points, and for it all to be safe, cozy & clean-spirited. But horror is not safe! By design!

Film is the superior art form, a conclusion I've come to over the years. It is the ultimate creative culmination, seamlessly combining almost every other medium. Writing, photography, poetry, music, acting, and design all merge to create a singular, immersive experience.

Nothing makes me more curious to see a film than reviews this extremely negative. Even if it’s a failure, I bet it’ll be a fascinating one.
Zack Snyder’s ‘THE LAST PHOTOGRAPH’ receives first reactions from its premiere at TIFF: “Worst film in Zack’s career” - @DalenogareW “That was fucking putrid” - @ShakExcellence “A tedious, frustrating, and grueling experience” - @NextBestPicture

This is how I outlive everyone.
Adults whose spicy food intake averaged six or seven days a week had a 14 percent lower relative risk of dying than those whose intake averaged less than once a week. Here’s what else we know about how spicy foods affect our health: wapo.st/4bq2Dpl

Sorry, haters and gatekeepers, but I used AI to finally create the vision I’ve had in my head for 13 years. This is why Hollywood tries to keep us quiet. They’re scared (*seven minute clip of a photorealistic Goku with my face fighting Optimus Prime in Manhattan*)

My favorite brand of action movies and style of choreography is this Indonesian style. Raw, handheld, brutal. Already tried to do a similar style fight scene in Amber with a near zero budget. Hope to make a gritty action feature film soon.

Know who wins when the attitude becomes “if you’re not rich enough to make a film, don’t make one? AI and the studios. Indies disappear, jobs disappear, studios consolidate, and the work they don’t want to pay people for gets handed to AI Fewer jobs. Fewer voices. More control

This weekend is one of those rare moments that I truly believe is going to change the film industry and change it for the better.

Sam Raimi was 20 when he made The Evil Dead David Lynch was 25 when he made Eraserhead So why are someone people (jealous, loser millennials) now pretending Kane Parsons (20) and Curry Barker (26) are too young to be, and incapable of, directing a film?

Advice to young filmmakers: 1. Screenplays are the currency of all film business, so work on your writing skills. 2. The film business is built to cycle you out. Work hard every day to give it a reason not to. 3. Make the movies only you can or would make. That’s your voice.

The beauty of short films is that they allow you to find your voice and discover ways to achieve your vision on such a low budget. Using Gen AI completely obliterates this important lesson.

Fascinating because even the worst creative mind doesn't struggle for at least raw ideas. Ideas are the cheapest easiest thing and this prick can't even write down one before he's second guessing himself. Tech bros do not belong in the world of stories!
AI filmmaking is completely unserious. You've got people with $30k begging the internet for ideas by next week because they have nothing of their own to say, it's just slop for the sake of slop. Embarrassing state of affairs.

This silly little parody skit is infinitely more creative, funny, worthwhile, and impressive than every piece of AI slop content that's ever been generated, or will ever be generated

I've said it before but it bears repeating: If generative A.I. was capable of “revolutionizing” writing, art, film or music - it would’ve produced something of cultural value *already*. Instead all its made is endless piles of derivative slop. It's a con. A big lie.
If LLMs can write books well then where are the books? Many many people have ideas and are just lacking the writing follow-through that the machine can do. They can publish stuff online too. If it's $200 to execute now, what's the hold up?
