The idea that the Colts were getting a 3rd round comp pick is flawed. The roster needs drastic change and they’ll have over $100 million in cap space. You only get that pick if you don’t sign any free agents to cancel that out.

Between this & the Joe Thuney trade compensation, it’s clear NFL front offices do not value veteran O-linemen high enough
These guys can be quality starters deep into their 30s, and they make offense so much easier
Jared Goff (Rams) comp intensifies
Revealing comment from #Steelers LB Elandon Roberts. Noticed on film Saints QB Tyler Shough wasn't making checks himself - HC Kellen Moore relayed them in.
So Steelers defense stayed static until < 15 seconds when playcallers can't talk to QB. Two examples of it below. First one, Patrick Queen runs into A-gap w/ 14 seconds and Saints run right into him.

Colts social media admin knows what will get them engagement lol the social media team doesn’t have a clue in if he’s getting traded
Can’t underestimate how much owners prioritize $
Even if Nelson is canton too JT puts butts in seats / sells jerseys since he’s easier for casual (no disrespect) fans to identify given he touches the ball so much

Quenton Nelson wins the super bowl with seattle, then the chargers sign him in free agency and he's suddenly diagnosed with a disease that hasn't been discovered yet
In your rush to dunk on the team you cover you forgot that the colts can’t tank for a qb without their first round pick

Q on Seattle is crazy to see. I don't think people understand how much it changes their offense. Q isn't just a great pass protector and can keep the Qb upright. He is a legit offensive weapon in the run game. A true force multiplier for a team that has had RB issues 👀💪🏾🏉

Arch will likely return to Texas and other roster notes and thoughts at this point in the season.
Texas' 2027 Roster Considerations Are Beginning to Take Shape

Why do we think Seattle won’t sign anyone else that would cancel out the pick? Why are we ignoring the time value of the earlier 2027 3rd vs 2028 even if they do get that?
It’s a good deal but this isn’t an accurate representation of the trade
Thuney was traded for a 4th at two years older and 17 games under contract. Colts got roughly a late second value for 10 games of 30 year old Nelson
Maybe a little light but around what he should have been expected to go for imo
On Fitzgerald Spielberger trade chart:
- Pick: 90 (late 3): 720 points
- Pick 150 (late 5): 461 points
1,181 is actually equivalent to a high second on their chart (pick 37)
Even if you think that’s a bit high / NIL reduces value of Day 3 picks a bit, I still think the return here is comparable to a late 2nd?
