An e-bike battery sparked a fire that tore through a NYCHA apartment in the Bronx overnight, killing an 11-year-old boy and leaving four others critically hurt, authorities said.
At a news briefing, FDNY Commissioner Lillian Bonsignore said the bike was “placed in a spot in the kitchen that made it impossible for the residents to leave safely.”
