It was a bad day yesterday. Wife & I were woke up at 3AM to our cat not being able to use his back legs. Took him to a 24hr vet to find out that he had Saddle Thrombus. Unfortunately we had to put him to sleep. R. I. P. Tipper

I understand the hesitation with a first-time head coach. That’s a legitimate concern. But Schumann makes sense to me because his background fits the structure I think FSU should build.
He came up under Saban, worked in player development and personnel, then went to Georgia with Kirby and became part of an elite recruiting, development and defensive operation. He understands what championship infrastructure looks like.
And if FSU can get him in the neighborhood of $5M instead of paying $8–10M for an established name, that matters. Use the savings on the roster, elite coordinators, recruiting staff and a real front office.
First-time HC is a risk, but so is overpaying for yesterday’s resume.

Everyone commenting on the female pilot communicating with ATC needs to realize there are many situations that can cause panic, regardless of who the pilot is.
The pilot in this video is okay and landed safely. This plane did not go down. The pilot here was flying VFR in IFR conditions and disorientation caused an uncontrolled spin. ATC reminded this pilot of stall recovery procedures and helped him recover and land safely.
I don’t blame him for panicking. I’d be terrified, too.
The Learjet pilots had a totally different situation, and looking at the totality of circumstances available at this time, it seems there was nothing anyone could do.
Facing what could be your final moments while being able to communicate critical information and data to ATC regardless of inflection tone is tragically remarkable.

I wanna take a moment to appreciate @Coach_Norvell. He took over a horrible team and beat a top 5 opponent his first season. He beat LSU twice and even beat Bama. He was able to win 19 straight games and not only beat the Gators but won the entire ACC with no QB! Who knows where we’d be right now if not for Disney giving us the screw job! Thanks Coach!!

I still contend that Florida State getting shafted in 2023 is one of the travesties of college football. They were literally an undefeated power 4 champion and had the best defense in the country. They just beat a top 15 team by 10 points in a neutral site with a new QB. But FSU didn't make as much money for ESPN as Alabama or Texas (especially with a potential Alabama Texas rematch) so they were left out.
Jokes on the committee though. They didn't get that Texas Alabama rematch they wanted. Both teams lost.
Tell me - what blue chip athlete would want to play for a team who can go undefeated and still get left out of a 4 team playoff? It's no wonder FSU struggled after that.
