Saving up to £21 a year on food and not queuing at the Post Office is all I've ever wanted
🚨 NEW: Andy Burnham has announced five "everyday fixes" ahead of the Budget 1. Carer's Allowance will be changed so carers no longer lose their entire benefit when they earn over the limit - instead, their support will reduce by £1 for every extra £1 they earn 2. Import tariffs will be removed on more than 100 products, including baked beans, chocolate and gherkins, to save households up to £21 on their food shop a year 3. Tax-free mileage rates for workers using their own cars will be made permanent at 55p per mile for the first 10,000 miles, with the rate for additional miles rising from 25p to 35p 4. Parental pay will be extended to over 150,000 more parents a year, including self-employed fathers and partners 5. Hundreds more Post Office drop boxes will be rolled out to save people queueing at branches

Cheaper gherkins and marmalade. Wow! That certainly takes the pain out of the mortgage going up £300 a month.

Are we going to get an app to show us where the cheapest gherkins are? @andyburnham

none of this normal btw. the fact an average house is priced 10x our salaries instead of 3x, the fact that grocery prices are at an all time high, the fact that it’s becoming impossible to find a job. none of it’s normal and stop letting the older generations gaslight you into thinking it is

Every year I get a below inflation pay rise, and that is taxed at 40%, plus NI, plus pension. But the costs go up by more than a gross salary increase. I get poorer every year, even as a highly trained expert in my field. This country is a joke and I dont think we can improve it.

I felt something I don't...care about cringe anymore. I just want the Internet back
How is the internet less private than in 2006, when the whole family shared one computer? Back then, the internet was weird, personal, and all of ours. So, we got your favorite meme legends back together to say it louder: What happened to the internet? 1/3

a great tip if you’re packing for a trip is to ignore all the clothes you feel comfortable in and wear on a regular basis and instead bring a long velvet skirt you’ve never worn before that’s slightly too small and doesn’t go with any of your shirts or shoes
