Umekaa tu hivi, then your loyal Sugar-Mummy sends you a clip pale WhatsApp with the caption, “Vaa shati kama ya huyo Kijana hapo mwisho, then ukuje Kettle House Lavington uniambie ile shida ulisema uko nayo.”
Kuona, ni section ya ile mix ya The Bag Edition 4 featuring DJ Bash. Apparently she wants to show you off to her Girlies that a former war child can still be tamed.
You tell her openly you are a dry Kalenjin man and very shy in the “periphery,” then she convinces you uvae ile jersey yako ya Manchester United, then utatoa na umwonyeshe kifua baadaye jua ikitua.
So, leo usiku ukiniona na shati ya black ya kichungi, mind your damn business; huko Eldoret, mjengo imekwamia lintel na El Niño inakuja.
I want to say this,
Before you marry a woman,
• Understand her family's taboos, traditions, values, morals and beliefs. This is important.
• Take her to your home, and leave her there for a while to bond with your traditions, values, morals and beliefs.
• Go to her home and introduce yourself. This is not you going. It is your uncle, siblings and aunts. You remain behind.
• Invite her brothers, uncles, aunts and otheŕ relatives to your home. This is when they see you for the first time. This is when you interact with them for the first time.
• After this, plan and go to her home. This is the first time you go there. Go with your friends, siblings and parents. This is where bride price talks are introduced. This is when you meet her father and mother for the first time.
Why do all these?
To protect yourself and your children's future.
But most of you are ignorant. You live in the city like vagabonds.
You meet a woman in the city and hide her in your city's house.
Impregnate her in the city.
Have children in the city.
Then, when things fail and her family take her away, you throw tantrums, loiter around court corridors and jeopardise your children's future.
Some of you shamelessly meet your father-in-law for the first time in a funeral.
Or some of you, casually meet your father-in-law in a bar.
Your children don't even know their village.
When will you be straightforward and subservient to our cultural norms as an African?
Stop being a bladifakin man.

The gap between where you are and where you want to be is often filled by one thing: consistency. Small actions repeated daily changes everything.
Misery loves company. The resentment and belligerence is a coping mechanism. Those washed up war veterans have been slapped by reality - the men who used to toss them from bed to bed during their prime no longer find them desirable after their shelflife expired. They are physically and emotionally dented. Hitting the wall is an unpleasant experience, and menopause is knocking. – at Nairobi, Kenya
My uncle who works in the military has told me that the military and the police are with us, let's march to state house.
My aunt who works at State House has told me that chai inaonja mwarubaini.
My father at NIS has told me that top govt officials are already relocating their families abroad.
