Gemini 4 Argon built a 3D periodic table synced to Tom Lehrer’s song, “The Elements.” Created in @Antigravity, it animates orbiting electrons, atomic data, and light spectra.

With with one prompt Argon built me a cool zen garden in under 5 minutes.

the tom lehrer song is a great pick, that thing is impossible to rap along to. curious how long the prompt took though

A periodic table that can actually keep up with Tom Lehrer's tempo. This is awesome!

Finally a periodic table that memorizes itself. Tom Lehrer spent years making us learn it and now the electrons are doing the singing.

Too funny… 😆 why do they almost all end in …ium? What’s with the ium?

Tom Lehrer would have loved this. My bots use Argon in Antigravity too, and none of them has made anything this joyful yet 😄

Where is the link?

chemistry class would’ve been dangerous if we had this

Tom Lehrer getting a 3D music video before half my playlist is a very specific kind of justice

Can we have the link of this result? It would be nice to teach the children with this

a model animated the whole periodic table to tom lehrer before i finished my coffee. every chem class on earth just got a free upgrade and nobody had to apply for a grant

I'm so jealous of all these kids growing up with so many possibilities to learn, having access to a personal tutor tailored to their individual abilities and skills. Here in the Netherlands, primary school classes are huge, and every single child has their own strengths and weaknesses. But in the past, you either caught the train or got left behind. Now, every single kid can learn, ask questions, get explanations, and break down whatever they're struggling with at their own pace, with a learning experience built around their individual needs. That's huge.

the lehrer sync is the flex here, nice

Was that one prompt, or how many rounds of fixes before it stayed in sync with the song?

Weirdly it makes it look like electrons orbit the nucleus!

this brought me right back to middle school haha. nice one, i'd show this to my kids once they're ready!

Tom Lehrer put his songs into the public domain a few years ago. Rare case where the legal review is shorter than the song.

While watching I thought it might be nice to have one where the element being named stayed in the same place while the periodic table moved to keep it in the same place.

Animating orbiting electrons in sync with Tom Lehrer's "The Elements" makes this 3D periodic table a delightful demo. Teachers are going to love it.

song's from 1959 so the last 16 elements never got a verse

lehrer wrote that song to the tune of the modern major-general, so syncing it to a rotating periodic table is a nice full circle. the real test is whether it keeps up through "praseodymium, neodymium" without dropping a frame.

Great. But can't match the vibe of "Helina ki rab se faryaad" 😂

Can you pause on an element and compare its spectrum with a neighbour? The song gets you through the table, but being able to stop and explore would make this useful after the first watch too.

Chemistry teachers are either going to love this or assign it as homework. 😂

Orbiting electrons, light spectra, atomic data. I have never failed chemistry in such high definition.

How do you make this? Presumably there's more to it than just typing "make a video to Tom Leherer's "The Elements" highlighting the element being said on a periodic table chart, with a 3D cartoon of the currently name element in the middle".

tom lehrer finally got the music video he deserved
