i know the job market is bad but i find it genuinely surprising that i don't get an interview or email back from any of the jobs i'm applying to. i have 3 years of startup experience doing AI product design, i'm the coauthor of an AI research paper, i have an ivy league degree in the humanities, my portfolio has real work and solo built products with hundreds of real users. my resume is polished and tailored for each position, i interview very well. i have contributed new and original thought to my field. i thought i have done everything the right way. i am not sure what to do. my back is nearing the wall. i don't know what to do.

going to try and start something new, a little @portaltext reading group. twice a month-ish i'll host something new on the portaltext website for everyone to go read, fully annotated without needing to download the extension :))
i chose to start with a Calvino essay on literature in the era of machines, from 1967. this essay is incredibly prescient for 2026 with all of the unavoidable LLM writing all over the internet (and in print!!). feel free to leave thoughts below and if its popular enough i can start a little gc or discord.
