Just published @NatureMedicine Mix and match AZ (vector) vaccine: Adding mRNA (as 2nd dose) led to a better immune response than 2 AZ doses and CD8+ T cells was even better than 2 mRNA doses. And well tolerated Prior tweet deleted (not J&J), sorry, too early in the morning here

Anyone who wants to hear detailed rebuttal of the wild SARS-CoV-2 origin stories going around, definitely worth a listen/watch. Even if you don't understand the detail, there's a lot to help relieve one's concerns. The whole podcast series is amazing!
Robert Garry joins #TWiV to explain how the molecular biology of #SARSCoV2 shows that it came from Nature and not a lab, including the receptor binding domain, the furin cleavage site, and the two lineages circulating in Wuhan wildlife markets bit.ly/3wGGPiw
COVID Stage Paper now accepted for publication in so will post link to paper when available but here are the 'polished' figures. The reason I like peer review is despite the pain I do think it improves the final product. Thanks to all the reviewers :-)

I learned about this idea from @michaelmina_lab on This Week in Virology #640 in mid-July. I've been working on my own video (&taking care of a 5yo!) since then - not ready yet since 5yo w/Playmobil demand more attn. But this is prob the most important idea in COVID-19 times!

There is nothing normal about a Trump campaign megadonor with at least $30 million invested in @USPS competitors being appointed as Postmaster General to sabotage our mail delivery & threaten our elections. The @OIGUSPS must investigate this corruption now.vox.com/recode/2020/8/7/2135…

The @washingtonpost reports that Trump, in continuing to tell Americans that the virus is receding, is in fact contradicting an internal White House projection — which, according to aides, alarmed him — that infections will rise from August to October. /1 wapo.st/2XJloOO

The time to move to rapid #SARSCoV2 testing is long overdue. It's about switching from diagnosing *infections* to determining whether someone is *infectious* In minutes, not days. Anywhere. Cheap. My table here summarizes the differences and why this should be the #1 US priority

This simple #SARSCoV2 saliva test costs $1, gets results in <1 hour, and can be performed anywhere without electricity medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/… by @PrakashLab Why isn't there US support to get rapid validation of such tests and provided to every household?

My English wife started a video of @tedcruz while sipping tea in bed. My shock/surprise caused me to look up from my reading. She'd followed thread about how pained he looks when saying some word. I cont'd my far more interesting/useful/truthful article: the sex life of leeches.

Way back in Jan, I listened to a @tedcruz podcast about the impeachment trial, to comprehend the absurdity of the pro-Trumpers. Lies, half-truths, false comparisons - all necessary to become an enabler. Even the competent evil, like Stalin & Hitler, needed enablers.
