Nakuru County. One month apart.
They wanted more space for pedestrians, so they cut down the beautiful jacaranda trees. Someone once said that corruption alone does not explain why our counties, and the country at large, struggle to develop but also inadequate education, limited exposure, and appointing people who have neither formal training nor practical knowledge of the departments they lead.

The government is much more focused on deforestation. If mature plantation trees in Kereita have reached harvesting age, let them be harvested under proper management and replanted. We need timber production, but we also need to protect the forest and the water tower.

Kenya is logging away its future. We are losing forests, water catchments, biodiversity and climate resilience. What we are destroying today will be costly or impossible to restore in future. Who will save our trees?

Am encouraged by the fact that Kenyans clearly care about out trees and greenery even if authorities do not

Nakuru looked serene and unique with these trees in addition they offered a very cool shade in hot weathers plus very nice natural air. But the current government has a different opinion of these Jacaranda trees.

At just 13, Baraka Moruri has already planted more than 7,600 trees.
Now he wants to plant 1 million trees before turning 18 while inspiring more children to take part in climate action across Africa.

Eliud Lagat is the main suspect. William Ruto may think he can protect him forever, but that will not last. After Kenyans defeat William Ruto, both William Ruto and Eliud Lagat will be jailed.
Last year, when I went to court and called for Eliud Lagat's arrest, I was arrested instead and detained in three different cells. I was first held in the Kibera Law Courts cells, then transferred to Jamhuri Police Station, and later that night to Kibera Police Station.
We will never forget. We will not forgive. We will not move on.

The issue of raw sewage discharge into Lake Nakuru from sewage plants is not something new & did not start yesterday. Over the years, the sewage treatment plants have been neglected to a point that you can smell the stench inside the lake. ~ @JamesWakibia greenpeace.org/africa/en/blo…

Somebody should get rid of this billboards allover any available space in the city streets nd roads. They are a nuisance.
For the sake of billboard visibility, trees cannot thrive. With so many billboards being planted, trees are felled or heavily pruned to keep advertisements visible. The cost of this growing advertising culture is being paid by our urban trees. @KeNHAKenya
