Three down. Three left. The people have spoken. We have had enough of the chaos, the hatred, the corruption, and the authoritarian idiots who think the world belongs to them. Orbán, Bolsonaro and Vučić have all been rejected by voters. Today, Netanyahu could be next. And Trump looks increasingly likely to earn his own big red cross in the midterms. That leaves Putin. The rest of us must make sure Moscow gets its red cross too, by giving Ukraine everything it needs to defeat Russia’s imperial ambitions. The age of «strongmen» is looking a little less strong. And that is a beautiful thing. Remember when you could wake up in the morning without wondering which country was being threatened, which ally had been insulted, or which international crisis had been manufactured overnight by a man with an oversized ego? When politics was often boring, diplomacy happened behind closed doors, and world leaders generally tried to solve problems instead of creating three new ones before breakfast? It wasn’t a perfect world. Far from it. But there was a certain peace in not having to listen to angry old men demanding the world’s attention every single day. Imagine getting that peace back. Imagine a world where the morning news is about progress, discoveries and possibilities, rather than the latest threats, lies and tantrums. We deserve that world again.

Whoever said the 2028 Democratic presidential candidate should run on extraditing Zuckerberg to Lula’s Brazil deserves an award.
President Lula states that he will "go all out" against Meta, saying that Brazil will not accept a foreign company negatively influencing Brazilians and humanity with a "digital empire."

Reply guys / bots / red wallers, the world isn't 2016 any more, the UK isn't getting special deals from the EU, US, or China, and that's 75% of UK trade. Geography and reality mean we have to deal with the EU. Andy Burnham gets that.

Free speech king!
Musk’s interview went great: Reporter: What is your thought on the ban of foreign students, you were one of those kids, right? Musk: “I think we want to stick to talking about spaceships.” Reporter: I was told that any topic is good. Musk: “Well no.”

Obama made a joke about Trump's tacky gold decorations, and MAGA somehow heard an attack on cheesecake. Reading comprehension has officially left the building.
Gutfeld: Don't go after The Cheesecake Factory. A lot of us don't have a personal chef. The Cheesecake Factory is a tribute to America. It's literally a melting pot, Jessica, that's why you hate it. All the flavors assimilating into a menu. 250 meals, 700 ingredients. 100 sauces.

The world cannot ignore what is happening in Sudan. One year on from the mass atrocities in El Fasher, the UK is sanctioning those linked to these and other atrocities, and strengthening support for survivors and communities at risk of famine.

Good news. Mass production of “power-generating” windows that act as solar panels is scheduled to begin in 2029. Panasonic is already selling these game-changers in Osaka, Japan, and is speeding up large scale manufacture of them. japantimes.co.jp/business/20…

IN A NUTSHELL - remove workers rights - remove protections - remove any environmental protection - destroy the country and the planet - create havoc with 'fracking' - no mention of defence - no mention of consequences - poverty, crime

UK and Europe, please take note!
Lula victory speech: "We had to overcome foreign interference through digital platforms, which we will have to regulate. We cannot have monstrously huge corporations earning millions & billions, paying no taxes to this country & trying to steer this country's election results."

Before Donald Trump took office, he swore an oath… to Big Oil. And now Americans are paying the price while HE gets richer!
FIRST ON CBS: As President Trump boasts about how much money the U.S. oil and gas industry is making from the war with Iran, the president's personal holdings in oil and gas are now worth between $22.5 million and $81.6 million, compared with $12.6 million to $46 million at the end of 2025, according to a new report by Democrats on the Congressional Joint Economic Committee. cbsn.ws/47IN9un

Same old story. Free speech is essential until they control the platforms. There’s too much billionaire money in politics until it’s their money. Too much debt until they’re in charge of spending. The Dems are too soft on defense until it’s time to kiss Putin’s ass.
Elon Musk has spent more money on American elections in the last two years than George Soros has in his entire life.

Solar has overtaken nuclear. A decade ago it supplied 1% of the world's power. In 2025 it met three quarters of global demand growth. Almost nobody saw it coming. I spoke to Jocelyn Timperley at BBC Future about why. bbc.co.uk/future/article/202…
