Every single person of Scottish ancestry would descend from Kennth MacAlpin who united the Gaelic kingdom of Dál Riata and the Kingdom of the Picts into Alba which went on to become Scotland. George Washington descended from Crínán of Dunkeld who married Bethóc, the 2x great granddaughter of Kenneth MacAlpin. Most if not all of us would descend from Robert the Bruce as well.
All Germans, Dutch, Swiss, Austrian, and danish would descend from the Holy Roman Emperor Otto the Great and most would descend from Frederick Barbarossa. There is tons of disinformation and misunderstanding around the “Epstein Files.”
Conspiracy theorists believe Epstein had evidence or videos of prominent figures having sex with children or underage girls that he kept for purposes of blackmail. Epstein did have hidden cameras in his bedrooms that he used to record videos of himself having sex with girls, possibly without the knowledge of the girls, but there is no evidence that he possessed blackmail dossiers on prominent figures.
“The Epstein Files” are the documents collected from Epstein and his associates in the course of investigations into his wrongdoing — mostly his emails. He emailed a lot of people. He used email in the 2000s and 2010s the way people use text messages today.
People conflate “The Epstein Files,” which are documents related to the Epstein investigation, with Epstein’s rumored blackmail files, which do not exist. So, when people say someone is “in the Epstein files,” all that means is that Epstein emailed that person or mentioned them in an email to someone else, but that is often misinterpreted as suggesting Epstein had blackmail files on that person. But people think it means that person is implicated in having sex with children.
For example, the Hollywood talent agent Casey Wasserman was forced to sell his talent agency because he “appeared in the Epstein files.” Wasserman did not know Epstein or correspond with him, but he exchanged flirty emails Ghislaine Maxwell in 2002 or 2003, and Maxwell’s emails are part of the Epstein investigation files.
Maxwell was in her early 40s at the time of this correspondence, and had not been publicly implicated in any wrongdoing when Wasserman emailed her, so he is not actually accused of doing anything illegal or improper by trying to hook up with Ghislaine, but the taint of “being in the Epstein files” destroyed Wasserman’s reputation and caused his agencies clients to flee out of fear of being associated with Epstein.
Similarly, people will say “Donald Trump’s name appears hundreds of times in the Epstein files,” and that just means Epstein, who was a Democratic donor, sent hundreds of emails to various people complaining about Trump during Trump’s first term.
This might cost me in more ways than one, but: Epstein is fake. The whole memeplex around it is fake. It is the closest thing to the Ring of Power that exists in politics. Both sides have wielded this ephemeral boogeyman against the other, and it’s always a disaster because once you obtain power you get to see the files and you realize there’s nothing there, which means you have no meat to feed the rabid dogs you rallied to your cause, and they eat you instead.
