A father’s love for his daughter never ends, even when her time here does.
There are no words to describe the heartbreak of losing a child or the emptiness that lasts a lifetime. The years may pass, but the love, the memories, and the longing to have her here with us never fade.
If you are able, please consider making a donation to support us as we walk to honor Autumn this Saturday. These donations, no matter how small, help fund life-saving research, suicide prevention education, and support for families who know the unimaginable heartbreak of losing someone they love.
Autumn will always be my daughter, our heroic archer. She will always be loved and always be a part of everything I do.

🚨Pay Attention, NC🚨
Meet Jessica Bichler, Democratic candidate for NC Senate District 7.
Bichler fussed about an ad depicting her as bonkers for her extreme views—defunding the police, releasing criminals, and free healthcare for illegals—she even sent a cease-and-desist letter over it.
But I got my hands on her dissertation. Her own words show the ad's heart was true. 🧵

Thanks for sharing, Brian.
Kratom is sold at gas stations, yet federal data tie it to more than 5,200 overdose deaths from 2020 to 2024. One of its compounds can be 13 times stronger than morphine. States do not need to wait on Washington to ban it, writes Kevin Sabet. city-journal.org/article/kra…

So in other words, the story about @SusieWiles was completely made up.
Nice to see a correction…
Wiles ‘offered positive reinforcement’ for press secretary’s Fox News interview ahead of her exit, but had no direct role in setting it up.
Note: This replaces an earlier post that mischaracterized Wiles’ role in connection with the interview.

In a movie full of great lines, Tom Skerritt's advice to Tom Cruise in Top Gun was the apex: "The simple fact is you feel responsible for Goose and you have a confidence problem. Now I'm not gonna sit here and blow sunshine up your ass, Lieutenant. A good pilot is compelled to evaluate what's happened, so he can apply what he's learned. Up there, we gotta push it. That's our job." R.I. P. , Viper. nytimes.com/2026/10/22/arts/…

My Dad was dying. I asked @wolfpackclub if Amato could call Dad. He did, & it was a special moment. After Dad passed, I ran into Amato & thanked him for the call. He remembered it, got teary & we sat there hugging. THAT is who coach was. He loved people, like V. #GoPack 😔

Today is the start of Syracuse University’s annual Remembrance Week.
35 students studying abroad through the Syracuse University study abroad program returning home for Christmas were among the 259 passengers and crew members killed when a bomb detonated in the forward cargo hold of Pan Am 103 at 31,000 feet over Lockerbie, Scotland on December 21, 1988. 11 residents of Lockerbie were killed on the ground. Each fall, Syracuse University observes Remembrance Week to honor all 270 people lost in the attack.
The chairs on the grass in front of Hendricks Chapel represent where each of the students was sitting in the 747 on the night of December 21.
In the wake of the tragedy, Syracuse established the Remembrance Scholarship as a tribute to the students lost, as a way to reflect and move forward in their memory. Every year, scholarships are awarded to 35 seniors, one for each student killed in the bombing. The scholarship recipients focus on education and service, planning Remembrance Week and teaching the campus community about terrorism.
Honored and extremely humbled to have attended Syracuse University Remembrance Week last year and meet with families who lost loved ones on Pan Am 103.
The man accused of building the bomb that brought down Pan Am 103 was captured by a militia group in Libya in 2022. He is now in United States custody awaiting trial, almost four decades after the attack.

Seems notable that Roy Cooper is so sensitive to questions about his health that he has dark money election denier Mark Elias sending cease and desist letters as a response to basic media inquiries….
NSJ’s inquiries to Roy Cooper’s campaign regarding the 69-year-old former governor’s health and ability to complete a six-year Senate term were met with a cease-and-desist letter. #ncpol

The Texas Tribune was able to track thousands of trips Ken Paxton has made over the last 25 years but has no clue where James Talarico has been the past 13 days 🤷♀️
The Texas Tribune reported this morning that Ken Paxton took 1000 trips out of state as AG but only 138 could be verified as relating to state business. Almost all of the trips were with security supplied by DPS at a cost of millions to taxpayers. He took trips to his 15 out of state properties and to Albania, Aruba, Australia, Costa Rica, the Czech Republic, the Dominican Republic, England, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Malta, Mexico, Poland, South Africa or Taiwan.

The 85-year-old who chose to die to save his family.
On October 7, Hamas terrorists went from house to house in Kibbutz Nahal Oz.
Shlomo Ron, 85, understood what was happening - but he had a plan.
He told his wife, two daughters, and grandson to hide in the safe room. They tried to convince him to come inside with them.
He refused.
Shlomo believed that if the terrorists entered and found an old man sitting alone in the living room, they would assume he lived alone, kill him, and move on without searching the rest of the house.
So he sat down in his armchair and waited.
The terrorists entered.
They saw Shlomo alone.
They shot him dead—and moved on without searching the rest of the house.
Exactly as he had hoped.
His wife, daughters, and grandson survived.
Shlomo Ron, one of the founders of Nahal Oz, was 85 years old and unarmed.
His final act was to give his life to protect his family.

Justin Gainey couldn't be more excited to be coaching his alma mater at #NCState. It's not easy to assemble a roster with 14 new players, but Gainey and his staff's approach was intentional with an emphasis on fit and character.
