Between 1969 & 1970, police raided the Mangrove 12 times, finding no evidence of illegal activity. On 9 August 1970, Black Power activists led a march against police harassment. Nine protesters were later charged with inciting a riot, becoming the Mangrove Nine.

The New Cross fire happened at a house party in 1981; 13 Black kids and youngsters aged 14 to 22 perished. A 14th victim died by suicide two years later. No one has ever been charged.

The BBC have shone a light on the harsh pressure postal workers are facing, and the price paid by consumers for the historic mismanagement of Royal Mail.
The company has been in structural decline for well over a decade, and the continuous failure to deliver quality of service is killing the brand, demoralising the workforce, and letting down the communities that postal workers are proud to serve.

50 years ago today on 6 Oct 1976, Cubana Flight 455 from #Barbados to #Jamaica destroyed by terrorist bombs. All 73 people on board Douglas DC-8 were killed. 57 Cubans, 11 #Guyanese, 5 North Koreans. Innocent students and athletes. CIA-linked anti-Castro Cubans committed mass murder.
