What wonderful news to return home to, and what a proud moment for Nigeria!
As First Lady Oluremi @SenRemiTinubu and I returned from engagements in Akwa Ibom and Rivers States this evening, I saw her keenly watching the Flamingos’ World Cup final against Japan. What a joy to see our girls defeat Japan 2–1 and become the first African team to lift the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup trophy.
Our young girls have conquered the world, made history and brought immense honour to Nigeria and the African continent.
I followed your remarkable journey throughout the tournament in Morocco, and I remember your promise after the semi-final victory to bring the trophy home. Today, you have kept that promise with courage, discipline and unwavering belief in yourselves.
Your triumph goes far beyond football. Millions of young Nigerian girls will look at what you have achieved and know that they, too, can dream big, compete with the best and reach the pinnacle of their chosen fields.
I congratulate every member of this exceptional team, the coaching crew, the Nigeria Football Federation, the National Sports Commission and everyone who contributed to this historic achievement.
On behalf of the government and people of Nigeria, I salute our world champions. You have written a glorious new chapter in our nation’s sporting history.
Nigeria celebrates you. I celebrate you.

So ADC has been having premature ejaculatory ecstacy on a FALSE NOTION of Atiku taking a "NORTH"....
His core NORTH supporters have deliberately been coopting and claiming the UNWILLING NORTH CENTRAL ( MIDDLE BELT ) as part of their NORTH....
I have continously asked them ...Define the North..???...because i know for sure the 6 States of NORTH CENTRAL no send Atiku....
Today...Rtd General TY Dan Danjuma has led other Rtd Military Generals of Middle Belt ( North Central) and existing Govt Appointees etc on solidarity visit to President Tinubu.....
Guess what? The Arewa4Atiku people have turned restless, in panic and panting....they are not even ashamed to openly made statement that clearly show they want NORTH CENTRAL/ MIDDLE BELT to remain under the control of CORE NORTH HAUSA/ FULANI....
Now they are saying President Tinubu is being divisive...how? NORTH CENTRAL/ MIDDLE BELT is a separate Regional Block na....They have right to deviate from political choice of any orher region....
Una see the Predicament of Middle Belt??

This tweet really exposed the mindset of some Obidients.
And I understand exactly what Mayor was trying to achieve by posting this kind of tweet.
Now, let me explain.
We have been on this street when some Obidients accused the Yoruba of being tribalistic. We challenged that narrative and made it clear that we are not bigots.
Some people within that same group later came up with another argument: since Makinde is contesting against Asiwaju, why can't we support him since we all know he is better than Asiwaju.
Mayor saw through their shenanigans and decided to play by their own rules. He basically challenged them with their own argument that, since we all claim not to be voting for Asiwaju, why can't we support Makinde, considering that he is young and has arguably performed better than Obi which is a fact. After all, if we truly believe in democracy, he is entitled to vote for whichever candidate he considers worthy.
Now, the same Obidients who were singing Makinde's praises are suddenly abusing Mayor for expressing his willingness to vote for that same Makinde.
This is exactly why i have always argued that the Obidient movement is driven more by an Igbo political agenda than by a genuine commitment to building a better Nigeria.
Don't allow anyone to gaslight you on this app.

Thank you, your Excellency @atiku, for not disobeying the court order disqualifying you as Presidential Candidate of the ADC. You signed off this statement very well, simply as former Vice-President (and not Candidate of ADC).
That is how a Statesman should behave and respect the Rule of Law. Be properly guided
BOLA CANNOT USE THE COURTS TO ESCAPE THE PEOPLE’S VERDICT; WE ARE ON THE BALLOT — ATIKU
Fellow Nigerians,
Let no one mistake the latest court ruling for the will of the Nigerian people. No manipulation, conjecture or concoction can erase our place in this contest, silence our campaign or deny Nigerians the right to choose their future. We are on the ballot, and the people must be allowed to decide.
Those who boast of having thirty-two governors and claim to have bought, pressured or coerced leaders from other parties into their fold should have no reason to fear a free and fair contest. Yet, instead of presenting their record to Nigerians, they continue to deploy every tactic available to weaken the opposition: political pressure, manufactured narratives, courtroom manoeuvres and attempts to compromise the voters’ register with AI-generated photographs, false names and fictitious identities. These are not the actions of people confident in their record. They are calculated attempts to make genuine competition impossible and push Nigeria towards a one-party state.
And what record do they have to defend? This government removed the fuel subsidy overnight without a plan to protect Nigerians. It presided over the steep decline of the naira and allowed food prices to rise beyond the reach of ordinary families. Factories and small businesses have shut their doors. Our young people are leaving in search of hope, while bandits and kidnappers continue to hold communities hostage.
Look around you. Market stalls stand empty. Feeding your family has become a daily struggle. Fuel prices keep rising, and silent pain fills homes across the country. Those in power may want you to believe that your suffering does not matter. They may want you to surrender your future before you even reach the ballot box. Do not lose heart. Do not retreat. Your vote is your power, and together, we will take our country back.
Let me be clear to every Nigerian who has stood with us: I am in this race. I am not going anywhere. We will be on the ballot. No threat, blackmail or court manoeuvre will make me abandon you or the cause we share.
We will resist with all our strength every attempt to turn Nigeria into a one-party state. Nigeria belongs to all its people. Our democracy must remain open to more than one party and more than one voice. If those in power believe in their numbers and their record, let us meet at the polls in a free, fair and credible contest.
Our campaign will continue. Our message on the cost of living will not be silenced or derailed. Stay calm, united and resolute. Together, we will fight for a Nigeria where life is affordable and every citizen’s vote counts.
Let me say this plainly: Bola cannot use the courts to escape the judgment of Nigerians at the ballot box.

Vice President of Nigeria, 1999–2007
