Hello!
Just wanted to let you know that you, yes YOU, are fantastically amazing.
Don't let anyone tell you otherwise!
Especially yourself.

Please keep me in prayer today. I'm still not 100% after that fall I took yesterday morning.
Also keep Kat's step mom Sandy V in prayer. Sounds like things have taken a turn for the worse.

Zelie Rose passed into eternal rest on the feast of all souls. Please pray for her family. Her short life inspired many to prayer, fasting, and sacrifice.

Meh. I’m not a super booster of TPUSA or anything, but they’re clearly an organization in flux, and facing a lot of the same problems as the movement writ large. I think Erika Kirk is more focused on Christian evangelization than political organization, and that’s her call.
The real problem is that Republicans — or, really, MAGA — have become an echo chamber, at the center of which is a class of entertainers who are always looking for their next buck. To keep the cash flowing, they have to get increasingly more radical (and cruel), while more radical elements of the party(ish) gain ground from the outside. The two groups sort of close in together, and now it’s hard to tell who is a “news personality” and who is just basically a fascist.
And then there are elements mixed in that are paid provocateurs. The “fascism” thing isn’t a joke. There are plenty of “mainstream” personalities who talk about it openly. They help to define the path that both inside and outside forces take to each other — and they’re very identifiable! If Monday you’d have given me the ability to name everyone who would now be parroting talking points about Israel and Iran, I could have named every last one of them.
If you want to turn this ship around, I’d mostly suggest turning off a lot of podcasts and turning down social media. Just, exit the spiral. Thin the number of grifters in the center of the right-world.

Wanted to share a few thoughts regarding the issue of abortion being a major voting issue for young women during these most recent midterms

There is a reason that religious orders (traditional ones, no less) say the Liturgy of the Hours in choir - facing one another.
Praying to God while looking into the eyes of your brothers/sisters is important, since our God became flesh and dwelt among us.
Praying to God while looking into the eyes of someone else is obviously not going to be the most conducive form of prayer. Yet the effect of the orientation of the Mass on priests is a neglected subject. My latest for @CrisisMag: crisismagazine.com/opinion/y…

Hi y'all, at the end of August, I was approved for disability. I’m now in the next stage of the process. Until payments begin, I’m still struggling to stay in my home and reach the point where I can work again within my benefit limits. If you can help:

Nobody talks about being the age where you have to be strong for your parents because their friends are dying. Please pray for my family and friends.

Please pray for me, I have a job interview tomorrow, and I am really hoping it goes well. The way I have been paid over the last two years has been much lower than other people in my same position, and financial stress that so negatively impacted my health

Of your charity, please join your prayers with mine for a man who has taken his own life today, and for his ex-wife, daughter and son-in-law who are, of course, distraught.
Lord, have mercy.

This family sits near to mine at Mass.
We are friendly.
It was nice to see that they were expecting.
Then word filtered out that their baby had some serious complications. Genetic. Likely unable to live long after being born.
The kind of complications which the medical professionals then offer you “choices”.
Mom carried baby safe and sound for those months of her life, until nearly full term. Knowing that baby would be born and perish.
Then
“A sweet baby girl was born into eternal life on All Souls Day, November 2, 2026. In her short time with us she brought many souls closer to Jesus. She gathered families together in prayer. Inspired others to go to daily mass. Motivated some to go on pilgrimages. She even brought an entire church community together in adoration.
Words can not describe the gratitude for the prayers and support we were uplifted and showered with. We will celebrate the life of this baby girl and the gift she was to all of us. A funeral mass will be held.”
I withheld her name bc I think that’s the right thing to do. She has a beautiful name.
There’s much beauty in this world.

popping in just to share a silly thing:
my almost-2yo likes to point at an image of Dorothy Day in our living room and ask, "Who dat?" and when I say, "that's Dorothy Day!" she'll repeat: "Tortitay."
anyway, now tortillas have become "tortitillas" in her lingo and I love it

My conscience can’t ignore the dark side of the blue wave: the baby is quite literally being thrown out with the bathwater. With the Democrats taking control of Congress and Governor-elect Bottoms about to lead Georgia, I know what’s coming: a new wave of pro-choice policies.
