We are proud to be part of a five-year partnership between the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar, through the @wizaraafyaznz Ministry of Health, and the @BeginningsFund to strengthen maternal and newborn health services.
Through the Zanzibar Investment Plan, the partnership will support improvements in the quality of care across 63 health facilities in five priority districts across Unguja and Pemba, helping more women experience safer pregnancies and childbirth while improving health outcomes for newborns.
Led by Zanzibar’s Ministry of Health, the partnership brings together local and technical partners, including Mkapa Foundation, #zanzibarhipz @WAJAMAMA1 and @ifakarahealth to support the delivery of quality maternal and newborn healthcare.
Over the next 5 years, the partnership will focus on strengthening the health workforce, supporting access to essential medicines and equipment, and improving the systems needed to deliver quality care.
20 years of impacting lives, we Mkapa Foundation believe every mother deserves quality care and every newborn deserves a healthy start to life. Through collaboration and a shared commitment to stronger health systems, we are contributing to a future where more women and newborns in Zanzibar can access the care they need.

The Nkomati Accord was a strategic betrayal of the regional liberation struggle. The signing of that treasonous accord equates Mozambican President Samora Machel with contemporary Afrophobic South Africa.
