Low density zoning is why you can't afford housing in every major U.S. city.

People who oppose "luxury apartments" eventually need to answer the question "where do well-to-do people who want to live in cities get to live?" Because if you don't let those units get built, then those people will still move to the cities and outbid people who can't compete.
"if we build more eventually we can all live in luxury apartments” is such a funny statement because it’s actually true

A modeling agency is ideal cover for a sexual predator. It gives him access to girls, helps him identify the most vulnerable, and gives him insight into their families.

They still don't get it. It is not the science and discovery of new drugs that are the road block. Its the 5 years it takes to run clincal trials to prove it works and its safe for humans. It will always take 12 months just to get FDA approval. I know of at least 5 to 10 drugs developed by tech bio companies over the last 5 years that all failed in clinic.

Never forget, a 13-year study found that protected bike-lanes led to a drastic decline in fatalities for all road users. ALL ROAD USERS. What about painted bike-lanes? No safety improvement at all. For sharrows, it’s actually safer to NOT have them. Via @StreetsblogUSA @StreetsblogNYC usa.streetsblog.org/2019/05/…

You all need to understand that there is a well-funded movement to kill Wikipedia as an institution. The dream of an internet that provided universal access to knowledge was a mirage. It threatened too many powerful people, so now we have AI summaries and illiteracy.
Can we also talk about how Wikipedia entries are no longer at the top of a search 😭

Kushner and Witkoff have been to Russia 7 times under the disguise of negotiating the war. That’s not what they are doing, they are negotiating for Trump and themselves. Not one transcript has been released of those meetings.

What's interesting about the book on Jared Kushner is that the massive corruption it exposes, verifiable at so many levels, is now simply understood as the U.S. "doing business" to make "peace deals"... except the business benefits the Trump family, not the U.S.

i know it’s been said a million times but american infrastructure is so pathetic. like why is there no high speed rail between nyc and chicago that’s a 9 hour drive and you’d be connecting the top gdp cities in the country

Built kinetic potential is hard to rebuild when starting from a stop on a bike. For the mode to remain efficient, it's far better to yield when walking at conflict points as the energy demands are far less. Basic physics in mobility can't be argued with.
Amsterdam, where cyclists take priority from pedestrians on zebra crossings. We’re told it works in the Netherlands, but this is what we found earlier in the year.

Another group of people who got exactly what they asked for. Joe Biden? BORING! Kamala Harris? TOO JOYFUL! No no, they wanted Daddy Trump back to feed them an endless stream of ~ content ~ they could monetize and cash in on via book deals and now they're mad. Fuck them.
NEW: Press groups on Monday sued the Trump administration, alleging in federal court that attempting to bar media outlets from the White House violates the First Amendment rights of ordinary citizens to access information about the U.S. government. washingtonpost.com/business/…

He spent a not insignificant part of Trump 1.0 as a government employee who was using WhatsApp to send messages to the Saudi Crown Prince and you'll be surprised to learn the BUT HER EMAILS crowd in the press could not have given less of a shit about it. 🙃
This book is really damning for Kushner. It claims the UAE paid Kushner $50 million to get Rex Tillerson fired as Secretary of State.

Much easier for the media to lock in on faux Cheesecake Factory outrage than a House Dem report indicating Todd Blanche basically told Ghislaine Maxwell "stop talking" when she was about to discuss a girl that could more closely tie Trump to Epstein

It’s not just that McConnell did not hold a hearing on a Supreme Court vacancy with nearly a year left in a presidential term, he completely shut down circuit court confirmations for Obama’s last two years. This is the McConnell rule, and there is no question Dems should apply it
Why would you call something Mitch McConnell did the Schumer rule 😂. The unwillingness to grapple with the way two court seats were handled by McConnell by anyone on the right is going to lead to total SCOTUS calvinball for the foreseeable future. Cake was baked in 2020.

I also love that being compared to Saddam Hussein just rolled off Trump’s and every other Republicans’ back. That was the actual insult guys!
Who could've guessed the joke would've baited Trump into spending the last week of the election talking more about his White House renovations?
