It's officially election day.
History says stocks are heading higher.
In fact, the S&P 500 has closed GREEN in the year following every US Midterm election since 1980.
As we noted in our analysis yesterday, we believe recent weakness in markets is largely a function of the uncertainty around Midterm elections.
However, when this uncertainty dissipates, markets react positively.
Since 1980, the S&P 500 has averaged a +14% gain in the 12 months following US Midterm elections.
Furthermore, even after divided-government outcomes, the index has averaged a +15% one-year gain, compared to +12% under single-party control.
Of course, the near-term picture will come with volatility and change.
But, if history is any guide, it's a great time to be bullish.

Prediction markets have a LOT riding on tonight’s election. And I’m not just talking about money.
I’m talking about credibility.
Going into Election Day, markets were pricing roughly a 94% chance Democrats take the House and 75% they take the Senate.
That’s some serious conviction.
If they nail tonight’s results, it’s another feather in their cap and another reason for the public to take prediction markets seriously.
But what if Republicans manage to hold the Senate? That’s already a significant surprise relative to expectations.
And if they somehow hold BOTH chambers? Imagine the questions that would raise about just how much confidence people should place in these markets.
Prediction markets have exploded in popularity, and increasingly, people treat their probabilities almost like facts.
Tonight could go a long way toward strengthening that trust or seriously shaking it.
I’ll be watching closely.

🇧🇷 MERCADO BITCOIN SAYS ITS HACK HIT $36.3 MILLION IN CRYPTO, AND IT HAS FROZEN $12.9 MILLION SO FAR
Brazil's largest crypto exchange says only its hot wallets, the online wallets it uses for daily deposits and withdrawals, were hit. Most of its assets sit in offline cold wallets.
Tether, Circle, BRL1, Paxos and Chainalysis helped freeze the funds, up from $11 million on Monday, the exchange said in an update.
The platform is still offline, with deposits, withdrawals and trading suspended. Mercado Bitcoin says customers won't lose any assets and their balances remain recorded.
It says it can't yet tell whether the attack is linked to the Binance hack.
🇧🇷 BRAZIL’S LARGEST CRYPTO EXCHANGE MERCADO BITCOIN HIT BY CYBERATTACK, OVER $40 MILLION IN SUSPECTED LOSSES
Mercado Bitcoin confirmed a security breach on November 2, temporarily suspending deposits and withdrawals while investigating the incident.
Blockchain security firm Hypernative identified more than $40 million in suspicious transfers across at least 10 blockchains, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana and Tron.
The exchange says the attack was quickly contained, no customer data was compromised and customers will not suffer losses.
Mercado Bitcoin has published wallet addresses linked to the suspicious transfers to assist with tracking and recovery.
The $40 million figure remains unconfirmed by the exchange, and the attack method is still unknown.

⚡️ LATEST: Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin warned at Devcon 8 that AI is creating new threats to security and privacy while also helping detect vulnerabilities.
He questioned the security of hardware wallets and warned against making crypto investments based on social media posts filled with bots and manipulation.
Buterin called for decentralized, verifiable technologies and zero-knowledge proofs to protect personal data, arguing that companies should avoid collecting unnecessary information.
