That moment when you meet the honorary #Daytona500 pace car driver, your childhood hero, & the 🐐.... Peyton Manning.
As well as one of the best natural slot wide receivers of all-time @bstokley14. #AllTheFeels #Colts 🏁
The Indiana Farmer's Bureau era at LG begins... xitter.cf/JoelAErickson/status/2…
At this point, the Colts rebuilding plan looks like:
-> Play young guys
-> Bottom out in 2027
-> Get a top pick and get your QB in 2028 NFL Draft
-> Go from there
Too soon. xitter.cf/Nate_Tice/status/21151…
The Colts’ starting upgrade from Jeremy Vujnovich in 2017 to Quenton Nelson in 2018 at LG was one of the greatest positional improvements in NFL history.
The Colts now lead the #NFL with $37M of 2026 cap space, and hold an estimated $97M of room in 2027 (5th most).
If they traded Quenton Nelson, I don’t see why they’d keep JT at this stage.
Nelson has ~3-4 peak years left.
JT probably around 2 elite years.
Nelson helps with JT’s success.
Was hoping for at least a third round pick, but glad that DeForest Buckner gets to return to where he started and play for a contender with 49ers.
Given his recent interviews, where Colts are at, and the emergence of Ade Adebawore, trade was inevitable.

*News flash*: Even rebuilding young teams still need veteran, ROH players to show them the standard and the work ethic required to be successful in the NFL.
For that lackluster trade return, would've kept Quenton Nelson in the building and on the field.

Not insinuating anything like a conflict of interest here, but Colts interim GM Ed Dodds clearly did his former organization, the Seattle Seahawks, a solid by trading Quenton Nelson there for mere 3rd round pick and 5th.
This is probably my low point as far as Colts fandom.
Even during Curtis Painter year and Manning career threatening injury, you knew you had a legitimate shot at Andrew Luck as hope.
We just traded a core ROH player and future Hall of Famer with elite years left for scraps.
Raises the question of whether transitioned Colts ownership simply didn't want to pay him during rebuild?

Not a fan of this Colts trade at all.
Quenton Nelson is a future Hall of Famer and was strong ROH candidate when all said and done.
Couldn't even get 2nd round pick.
Projects to have 3-4 peak years left given outstanding technique and fundamentals.

Trade: Colts have agreed to send eight-time Pro-Bowl guard Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks, per me and @rapsheet. Nelson is on an expiring contract and the Colts are opting to get back draft capital now before they could lose him in free agency.
But an all-time Colt now moves on to the Seahawks.
Even if you chalk it up to the Achilles recovery and believe that Jones is closer to the QB we saw in the first half of 2025, the Colts are still getting rather poor play at the league’s most important position right now.
Daniel Jones is currently 37th among QBs in total EPA, 37th in ANY/A, 38th in QBR, 37th in passer rating, 36th in Y/A, and 30th in TD passes.
THERE ARE ONLY 32 STARTING QUARTERBACKS!
HE IS LITERALLY WORSE THAN MULTIPLE BACKUPS!
$88 million contract by the way.

Even if likelihood of either is low, I think there’s a greater chance of AR “figuring it out” at age 24, than Daniel Jones now approaching 30.
With Colts season already looking like it’s over (and Jones value tanking w/o Steichen likely here next year), what do you have to lose?
Ideal hope was that Daniel Jones could be a placeholder for a few years, giving the Colts good starting QB play until they could find a franchise guy again.
Right now, he’s not startable. Whether it’s the Achilles or falling back down to Earth, he looks like he did with Giants.

(follow up to the last tweet) I also don' t think that Steichen is going to put Richardson out there unless someone forces him to.
#Colts HC Shane Steichen says he has NOT considered a QB change because he has “a lot of faith” in Daniel Jones.
That’s what I’m talking about, Colts!
Big 4th down stop by the defense, and the Colts offense complements it with explosive 38-yard JT TD run to house!
Lead 7-0 with 9:13 left in 1Q.
