The problem with many Protestants today is that they equate their interpretation of Scripture with Scripture itself. What reasonable discussion can be had with someone who thinks disagreeing with him is disagreeing with the Bible?

There are not thousands of Gods. Thats an atheist falsehood. Once you move outside the three Abrahamic faiths, you devolve quickly into superstition, myth and folklore. Billy makin' stuff up in His mums, basement is not a credible basis for knowing the creator of the universe. Regardless, Pascal was correct. Atheism is a dreadful worldview. It offers nothing, removes all hope and reduces us all to mindless cogs in a pointless machine, and is doubtless a big contributor to the increasing despair, degradation and diminishing of the west. Teaching our young people that they are just smarter monkeys, on the third rock from the sun, of no consequence, with no purpose whatsoever, is a recipe for them to behave exactly like that were true. And here we are. I can't believe people actually fall for it.

There are contradictions. But they are reconcilable through context and intent. The point is, it is not a science text, it is a series of historic accounts, poetry, moral teachings, laws, anecdotes and eyewitness reports, written across several millennia, by about 40 different authors. The surprise should be, that it harmonizes at all. Doing pull quotes of "contradictions" on the most studied book on the planet, pretending you've elucidated some personal gotcha that the finest minds on the planet have somehow missed for two thousand years, just sounds a bit silly, brother tbh. Read it again perhaps. Humbly.

I really cannot wait to see all the "all mods shud B free" crowd take up the work of Luke Ross now that he's gone. He gave the VR community about five quality VR ports of AAA games a year for almost a decade. It'll be really great to see all those people who are so keen to work for free take up his mantle. Looking forward to your work.

We have just understood it differently perhaps. When I read it I see God made flesh, come into the world to save sinners. He seeks first and foremost to restore what was lost in the fall. Our relationship with God through his indwelling holy spirit who guides and shapes those who trust in him. The church doesn't play a huge role in the text. Some minor mentions about responsibilities and leadership but the focus of the text is not "how to church". It's how to have a restored, saving and loving relationship with the living God. That's the difference between high church folk and us. You put into first place, that which was intended to merely serve the body of Christ. The people who know and love him. Rules rituals, sacraments and regulations are not the main thing. They help only insofar as that they point us to him. Unless you know this, know him, and love him, you will return incessantly to legalism and churchism. Which is not what our faith should be. It is above all about relationships, not rules and regulations. Hope that helps you understand my position.

Apologies, OP has blocked me. So I am unable to reply. I'll reply here. "What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and yet forfeits his soul" -Jesus. Your best life and worst life will look completely identical in 100 years brother.

The error of Catholicism. Christ + my church stuff =salvation
Do you think that'll help at all? **Jesus did not come to get a bunch of people to believe in Him. Not really. He came to set up a kingdom that everyone would join and participate in---His Church. If you're not in the CC, the KOG on earth, then believing in Jesus isn't going to "help you."

Evil will end. All of it. Which bit of that do you find problematic? The bit that you find in yourself right? That you cling to. That you make your own little God. That you refuse to lay down. My God will end that too my self centred sister.

Protestants are only concerned if you follow Jesus Christ or not, denomination is a remote secondary concern. Whereas Catholics keep score of "converts" (why use that word?) like salvation is some spiritual NBA game. It's all about Jesus, brothers.

1. An infinite past regression of causality cannot exist. 2. A first cause must therefore exist. 3. Such a first cause has certain logical requirements; uncaused, non-contingent, and self actuating. 4. These properties describe God. 5. The first cause was God

"Atheist trash". I'm not sure this is the witness Jesus asked for when he began the great commission.

What Catholics say as they overinflate the importance of these very things.
I don’t think it’s possible to over inflate the importance of the church, Mary, or the sacraments. It’s a category error, not a quantity error.

All church history is protestant history too. Our church, adopted some unhealthy teaching linked to its power and wealth and political status in the middle ages,so part of our church "protested" those errors. The RCC is just that part of the church that chose to remain in error
