في كلّ مجتمع عماليق. وليس عماليق شعباً في التاريخ فحسب؛ بل نموذجٌ يتكرّر: مَن يضرب الضعيف لا لغنيمةٍ ولا لهدف، بل لأنّ الضعف نفسه يستدعي فيه القتل. واقرأ التهمة في التوراة بدقّة: لم يهاجم عماليق المقاتلين في المقدّمة؛ بل قطع من المؤخّرة "كلّ المستضعفين وراءك وأنت كليلٌ ومُتعَب". هناك، خلف الصفوف، حيث لا يقاوم أحد. وبهذا المقياس وحده تعرف عماليق اليوم. ليس بطائفةٍ ولا بجغرافيا، بل بمن يختار المؤخّرة. حزبٌ نصب منصّاته بين بيوت الجنوب، فجعل من قراه دروعاً ومن أهلها مؤخّرةً مكشوفة. وحركةٌ حفرت أنفاقها تحت مدارس غزّة ومستشفياتها، فجعلت أطفالها حاجزها الأخير. وتنظيماتٌ في سوريا اختارت الأقلّيات؛ لا لأنّها خطر، بل لأنّها بلا سلاح. هؤلاء هم عماليق. لأنّهم جميعاً وجدوا الضعيف فاستعملوه، ثمّ سمّوا ذلك مقاومةً وكرامة وشجاعة. وشعوبهم ليست عماليق. شعوبهم هي المؤخّرة.

I’m watching the animated #David movie on Netflix. It’s beautifully done, and worthy of such a marvelous story. They don’t shy away from David’s Jewish identity and culture, or the messianic promises woven through it; they honor them all. What I love most about the Christian Catholic faith is that every biblical miracle, from the manna in the wilderness to the physical presence of God in the flesh among His people, is not merely remembered but made present again, every single day, in the Eucharist. The bread from heaven still falls. God still dwells bodily among us. The Catholic faith is a never-ending miracle, unfolding on every altar, at every hour.

Islam and its devout followers rely on two things: your exhaustion from defending yourself, and your longing for peace. Islam weaponizes both; using your fatigue to normalize its terror, and your goodwill to push its barbaric narratives into the mainstream. The moment you lower your guard, Islam doesn’t see peace; it sees an opening. When you start crushing Islamists, never give them a break to reinforce! Keep going until you redefine Islam to new Muslim generations in your own terms, not theirs.
