Taxes like this will force out people who could afford their homes 10 years ago while the very wealthy can remain/buy which seems antithetical to Council objectives but muh at least we have nice bike lanes.

This is questionable at best. France has a massive welfare state. Gigantic. They do not lack for public sector expenditure.
- French public spending accounts for an almost incomprehensible 57.2% of GDP
- the French deficit is 5.1% of GDP and the debt to GDP ratio is 115%
- France spends more on education on both a relative and absolute basis than the EU average
France can't meaningfully increase public spending. they are maxed out. Their 10-year bond trades at a higher yield than Italy or Greece, historical basket cases.
so, it's not about public spending. France is an insanely lavish welfare state to the point of serious dysfunction.

I’ve wondered how Minneapolis has been a nidus for horrendous events over the past 6 years and then I’m reminded these are our elected officials.
Just now #Minneapolis City Council member Jason Chavez says he supports the ordinance mandating "human safety monitors" in autonomous rideshare vehicles because cats are "being murdered by these vehicles."
A vote on the measure is expected soon...

So Prince showed them
Later when Clapton was asked what it was liked being considered the best guitarist in the world, “I don’t know, ask Prince.”
Prince was asked to do a solo on a cover of While My Guitar Gently Weeps and he showed up to the rehearsal and barely played anything. Didn’t have any solo ready at all and didn’t play one. They asked what he was going to play and he just said “Don’t worry about it.”
Then, on the night of the performance he just looms out of the shadows and plays this. The way he pivots off that F# root note into Dorian mode is so good. Massively underrated guitarist.
