Oracy, literacy, di, reading, writing none of this is new/unlocking the secrets of the universe. What’s key is being armed with a toolkit of approaches, grounded in rich subject knowledge & subject specific strategies, that allow us to engage the children we teach in learning

I can’t agree with Admiral Stavridis more.
Ukraine today is Britain in 1940, standing alone against aggression while others debate. The U.S. and Europe have a moral and practical obligation to stand with them. I joined @JessicaDean on @CNN.

I rarely share personal posts here, but I want to share an update with you all.
Last July 5th, I suffered a massive stroke that initially paralyzed the right side of my body. Fortunately, my right-side function has fully returned. However, I continue to have difficulty communicating due to expressive aphasia, as I lost 35% of my left brain hemisphere, including my entire speech center.
Even though finding the words can be hard right now, I want to make sure one thing is completely clear: my love for all of Twitter my Family.
Thank you all for being in my life and for your continued support.

I have three separate hobbies:
1. Reading books.
2. Buying books I’ll probably read someday.
3. Wandering around bookstores and libraries just to admire all the books.

+ we need to get rid of Ofsted. Ofsted holds back schools' creativity and development in a past history that is not fit for the education needed for the present and future time 🤔😃

I wish I could go back to one ordinary Sunday in 1985. Dad watching television, Mom making dinner, everyone still young, everyone still here. I wouldn't change a thing. I'd just stay longer.

“But but but suspensions don’t improve the behavior of the suspended kid!”
Maybe… maybe…
However, suspensions DO send a signal to every other kid that such behavior won’t be tolerated and provides the 29 other kids reprieve from chaos

That's the saddest part, they don't have to. It's not an either or situation, you can have both! Have your lawn in the middle, but leave the edges. Have your flower borders, but leave a corner or two. Have a lovely wild and untouched patch, but put a pergoda or deadhedge in front.🥰

Our security guarantees are our security guarantees. They cannot be dictated by the Russian side. Restrictions on our army and Ukraine’s neutrality are not up for discussion. The territorial issue is a red line that can only be discussed at the level of leaders. The Americans have long been raising the issue of exchanging territories – they call it “land swaps.” There are also other formats and proposals for discussion.
Everyone must understand. First, we are not exchanging anything for anything. We are ready for discussions. If it is the territorial issue, then it must be discussed at the level of leaders. Other issues – at the level of technical groups. So all of this can be discussed in November.

I was so excited about seeing a Banksy in person while in Bristol, but turns out there’s something even cooler in the city. La Belle Dame Sans Merci! It’s in the Bristol museum. I walked into the gallery and my jaw dropped open. Was not expecting to see the painting in person 🥹
