I'm assuming we get a fairly big dose of NYT/Siena since the ones they released this week were of some of the more borderline/weirder competitive states.

Patrick Stewart spending a lifetime establishing himself as a distinguished Shakespearean actor, only to turn around and do the dumbest shit imaginable because he thought it was funny. RIP to a real one.
Reminder that when they offered the role of the poop emoji in the emoji movie to Jordan Peele, he took it as an insult and thought it was beneath him and it led to him quitting acting, so they were like "fine, we will offer it to Sir Patrick Stewart," and he gladly took the role and made jokes about how it was one of the most important roles of his career. RIP to a real one.

Make no mistake: Democrats are united in a big blue wave For The People. To lower costs, protect healthcare and defend our democracy, we must elect a Democratic House and Senate. I urge everyone across America to support our Democratic Senate nominees, including @AbdulElSayed. Every seat matters. Every vote counts. Let’s win together! -NP

The reason Italy and France build infrastructure so cheaply is that 80% of the planning, design and project management is done in house. When I was a consultant, my company was charging more than 3x my salary for my work. Can we please get serious about project delivery as a country?
Breaking News: The chief executive of California’s High-Speed Rail Authority has abruptly resigned after a recent state report that found that the agency had misused nearly $600,000 to pay for the travel of consultants. This is a developing story. nyti.ms/4zoacHi

Obviously lots of porn being made technically illegal doesn't necessarily mean the cops will be battering down your door at every little offence. But that just means they have broad discretion to selectively enforce it against people they dislike.

>“it’s antisemitic !!” >look inside >it’s about Israel
Haley Stevens says she expects Abdul El-Sayed to condemn “antisemitic campaign advertisement.” “Nominee is expected, for the first time in this campaign, to formally condemn the eleventh-hour Rebellion PAC advertisement, produced by Cenk Uygur, the uncle of his campaign surrogate Hasan Piker, that advances the lie that Israel is to blame for everything Michigan families cannot afford.” “Stevens urges the press to confirm that condemnation with him directly, and says the same standard applies to his own words and to his campaign’s Tucker Carlson ad.”

Only historical case of They Were Just Good Friends that is genuine
Sir Ian McKellen has made a statement on the tragic passing of Sir Patrick Stewart. “He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love.”

Still *incredibly* funny.
Florence Pugh reveals Ian McKellen was shocked when she told him she had never done a theater production on the set of ‘AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY’ “He was just absolutely horrified. And then he was like, ‘Patrick! Patrick! She’s never done a play!’ I really horrified them.” (Via @VanityFair)

Not only was he a great actor he was a progressive activist who supported LGBTQ rights, universal healthcare, destigmatizing mental health issues, and was fiercely opposed to nationalism. He truly lived the ideals of Star Trek.
Patrick Stewart has sadly passed away at the age of 86.

Be so comfortably straight that you're ok being a little gay with your best friend. Sir Patrick Stewart, the zenith of positive masculinity.
