I haven't read a tribute like this in my career. Fittingly, P Krishnan, better known as PK, chose to pen this on GR Vishwanath. Gentlemen both. We lost PK on Tuesday. Travel well my friend. Indebted to you for those subtle improvements in my copies 🙏 sportstar.thehindu.com/crick…

This is for you, Dadi!! #BreastCancerAwareness For those fighters, survivors, remembering loved ones, and raising awareness. Breast cancer can affect women and men. Early detection saves lives. "Why do super-healthy eaters still get cancer?" It's not always about Food. With good food and lifestyle, something most of us miss is managing our stress levels... That chronic anxiety, anger, worry, negative emotions all of this suppresses the immune system. Along with good food, let's also work on our happiness and stress levels. Stress will not go away; we have to work on it to keep ourselves strong. Today's Tip: Eat real food + deep breathing…. Try it for a week!!

I kept this to myself for a bit, but I can share it now after reading your post. On September 27th, I visited a bakery to buy some cookies. A kind lady working there helped me by offering a variety of samples to taste. Suddenly, something shifted inside me. I asked for her name
Something strange happened this week and since it is Pitr paksha, so sharing here. Earlier this week, I found a neatly folded 100 rs on path within the condo and handed it over to the guard at the gate. Today again during the walk, I found a neatly folded 500 rs note just outside condo temple, so I picked it up and handed it over to Pundit ji. Would someone know what does this signify? Are my ancestors trying to convey something? ( Nonbelievers, stay away from the post. Hush hush).

साथ ही साथ चलते चलते कहीं हाथ छूटे मगर पता ही नहीं कोई नाराज़गी नहीं है मगर, फिर भी रूठी रूठी हुई सी लगती हो #Gulzar #HipHipHurray #PrakashJha One of greater #Breakup songs written for Hindi Cinema way back in early 1980s, especially for the way Gulzar’s words absorb the context of the script and the emotional situation of the characters. What makes this song so unusual is that these lovers are parting without anger, bitterness, betrayal or even much guilt. They are two independent minds in love who have chosen different paths for their professional lives and ambitions. Their separation is a conscious, dignified decision rather than the consequence of a failed relationship. There is sadness, of course, but no resentment. The hero, a computer scientist, is going away to a remote school to work as a football teacher for the time being, while the heroine, who has been working with American clients, is leaving for the US for three years. Both know what they want from life, and both choose to pursue their respective paths. They say goodbye, not because their love has necessarily ended, but because life has taken them in different directions. Contrasting, yet remarkably realistic. And that is perhaps what makes this one of the rare Hindi film songs to portray a breakup with such maturity. There is no real anger between them, yet something has changed. Looking back at the relationship, they realize that they themselves have changed along with it. What a beautiful metaphor for growing apart, walking together for so long, and somewhere along the way, the hands simply slipped apart, without either of them even noticing when it happened. And then comes the realization of unfamiliarity: आंसुओं से भरी सी आंखों में डूबी डूबी हुई सी लगती हो जब कभी मुड़ के देखता हूं मैं तुम भी कुछ अजनबी से लगती हो मैं भी कुछ अजनबी सा लगता हूं The pain of separation exists on both sides, but it is an introspective pain rather than a blame game. And when Asha Bhosle enters the song later in second half, the feeling becomes even more poignant: एक बीते हुए से रिश्ते की, एक बीती घड़ी से लगते हो तुम भी कुछ अजनबी से लगते हो मैं भी कुछ अजनबी सी लगती हूं Perhaps the most heartbreaking aspect is this: they are not strangers because they never knew each other. They feel like strangers because they once knew each other so intimately and now that life has moved on, even their own selves seem unfamiliar. The best part of the song, for me, is its mood. Bhupinder Singh brings just the right shade of melancholy to it, without ever making the song melodramatic. Vanraj Bhatia’s arrangement creates an extraordinary atmosphere, particularly through the beautiful use of the piano. And then, in the second half, Asha Bhosle’s entry with “रात उदास नज़्म लगती है…” is simply magical. But ultimately, it is Gulzar’s writing that makes the song so special. He understands that not every breakup has to be about betrayal, anger or heartbreak. Sometimes two people can genuinely love each other and still choose different lives. Sometimes relationships end not because love was false, but because life, ambition and individual dreams demand different journeys. That is an unusually mature thought for a Hindi film song and perhaps one of the reasons this remains one of my absolute favorites. And Raj Kiran brings an earnestness to the scene that makes this emotional restraint completely believable. There is no attempt to dramatize the moment or turn the separation into a conventional filmi heartbreak. His performance has a quiet sincerity, the sense of a man who is genuinely affected by the parting, but is equally aware that both of them have made their choices. That understated earnestness makes the farewell all the more touching. And kudos to Prakash Jha as well, for translating the emotional restraint of the song so beautifully on screen. He lets the silences, glances and understated sadness do the talking. A breakup song without blame. A love song without reunion. A farewell without bitterness. Rare. Beautiful. And deeply human. Imagine such a breakup song was written in 1984. #Gulzar #Rajkiran #Deepa #PrakashJha #DeeptiNaval #HipHipHurray #Breakup @yoonshabnami @hitm0 @MusingGee @PuneetVuneet @puneetj @rajshekharis @DeeptiNaval @SukanyaVerma @PrayRona_ @MusicAloud @SoundTrackIndia @raajaysh @prakashjha27
there’s something especially painful about a breakup song that isn’t angry at anyone!

Navratri is coming, and we’re starting this series with something that may already be on your festive plate: PANEER. But is every paneer actually paneer? Traditional paneer is made from milk and a food acid/coagulant. Analogue paneer, on the other hand, may contain non-milk ingredients such as vegetable fats, starches and other milk substitutes. And there’s a new FSSAI update worth knowing. FSSAI has proposed a nationwide ban on the manufacture and sale of non-dairy analogue products being marketed or labelled as “paneer”. If the proposed amendment comes into effect, such products would no longer be allowed to use the term “paneer” in their name, labelling or marketing. Until then, don’t assume that every paneer dish you order is made with traditional paneer. Read the label when you can. And when eating out, ask what kind of paneer is actually being used. This Navratri, look beyond the dish. Know what’s on your plate. Day 1 reminder: Don’t just look at the food. Look at what it is made of too. This is beautifully done! Poignant narrative, excellent acting, and a lot of lived-in moments shine through in the writing. The point about deleting Instagram, the things that actually made her cry, the way the friend understands and says sorry instead... truly lovely! The brand's presence is also tastefully minimal, at the right point, in context. I couldn't find the agency behind this ad - would love to know.
