– at Sendai-shi Miyagino, Miyagi

So many people in Japan right now are broken. Depressed and in anguish. It breaks my heart. I keep thinking “What if they had Jesus?” He would be there for them, ease their suffering. They would gain peace and joy that cannot be explained. Their darkness would turn into light.

Not trying to be argumentative but since these 8 million personified "gods" are just deified natural phenomena, it means that "gods" are shaped by human belief. This also means if somehow Japan becomes christian overnight, those 8 million Gods stop existing? But I guess that's not how it works because they are spirits which affect the natural world. So they are gods in terms of their power? But that still begs the question who created them? Humans? But these "gods", which are natural phenomena deified, still exist even if all humans in Japan die due to the megaquake that would happened in the next 30 years as they are natural phenomena right? So that means they exist independent of humans although they can affect humans and humans can affect them. So humans didn't create them but who did? After all, it doesn't make much sense that they just exist for all eternity right? Since they are natural phenomena there must be a time when they appeared? So there is 2 possibilities 1) They always exist but are instantiated at a certain moment. But that begs the question why are they instantiated at this moment? This means that there is a causal precursor to the instantiated, something not in time but causally instantiated it and that goes back to the infinite chain. 2) They are created when a certain natural phenomena occurs for the first time. This means that they are in time, which also means they have causal precusors in time, which brings back the infinite chain.
