EFCC Uncovers Chinese-Operated Illegal Oil Refinery in Ogun
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has uncovered an illegal oil refinery operated by Chinese in the Ogere area of Ogun State.
The operation, conducted on Saturday, October 31, 2026, by operatives of the Lagos Zonal Directorate 2 of the EFCC, followed credible intelligence and surveillance by the Commission on the activities of the illegal sludge oil refiners.
The refinery was found deserted when EFCC operatives stormed the premises, following the Commission's earlier clampdown on four illegal lithium processing plants in the area.
However, waste products from the refining process were discovered at the location.
During the raid, underground tanks believed to have been used for heating and processing the sludge oil were also discovered.
Two of the underground tanks inspected contained substances suspected to be Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), otherwise known as diesel.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the operators sourced sludge oil, also known as black sludge, from Warri, Delta State, and Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and transported it to the illegal facility in Ogere for processing.
Further investigation revealed that the illegal operators subjected the sludge oil to intense heat, allowing lighter petroleum components to pass through a series of chambers and filters in a process believed to produce Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) for sale in the Nigerian market.
Security personnel at the facility told EFCC operatives that the Chinese operators never disclosed their identities nor the name of the company behind the facility.
Consequently, operatives of the Lagos Zonal Directorate 2 of the EFCC have since taken over the premises as investigations continue to establish the identities of the operators, the ownership of the facility and the full extent of the suspected illegal activities and economic sabotage.

Blind man dey ask me if I blind. Because you have disabilities doesn't give you the right to talk to people anyhow. The right you have for freedom of speech is what I have too. It's a word of democracy.
Na God go punish you.
APC supporters, are you blind? Even me that I’m blind, I can see more than most of you. Where is your humanity? #RigandDie2027 @EmirSirdam

I went through the pain of watching the debate between Obi supporters and Tinubu supporters, and I can tell you that garbage humans truly exist, and many of them are Nigerians. This country is producing dullards every day. The children of the 1950s and 1960s debated far more critical topics than these people who can barely hold a meaningful debate.
On the Obidient side, you have people arguing from an emotional perspective. On the Tinubu side, you have people foolishly throwing around colonial data, citing the IMF and confidently defending the indefensible.
If anyone has to convince you that your country is working fine, then it’s not working fine. You don’t need anyone to tell you.
The Afro lady on the Obidient side always starts well, only to fall off and resort to emotional arguments. The dumbest of them all are the Tinubu supporter in the white shirt and tie and the obi supporter wearing the Yoruba cap.
The charge and bail lawyer lady on Tinubu’s team speaks far better than every other debater on both sides, but what she says is nonsense. What does she mean by “macro to micro”? Didn’t SAP promise a trickle-down effect? How has the trickle-down economy helped Nigerians?
None, and I say this with all sincerity, none of them seem to understand why they find themselves in the situation they are in.
Nigerians are always talking about everything except the very things they should be talking about.
How can a sane person defend this government? And how can a dying person believe that a clueless Obi is the solution?
The honest bunch just want content and nothing else. The moderators are as empty-headed as the debaters. The guy on his phone and slow like someone on some substance.
A dying youth of a dying nation, suffering from brain rot.
The power is in your hands. When you are ready, together, we will usurp this system.
A change of personnel cannot fix a systemic problem, especially when the personnel in question is a beneficiary of the same system.
News flash: Tinubu’s government will be better than that of anyone who takes power under this same system. Wake up, people.

When you hear them talking about selling one US dollar for N500 or even less, this is what they mean.
For decades, the rich, the powerful and the privileged accessed subsidised dollars to the detriment of Nigeria’s poor.
For some, the government funded their entire lives. For others, it paid for four trips a year, flights and accommodation. Nigeria’s poor funded all of it.
It took the boldness of @officialABAT to end it.
FX arbitrage is not just a technical term. It was a legal mechanism for the government to pick winners and losers.
Many privileged people lost. The poor were guaranteed to lose under this old arrangement. Thank God it is now over.

I’ve said it several times that I supported Peter Obi in 2022/23 because of his economic policies.
Fortunately or unfortunately, Tinubu got into power and started implementing those policies I had looked forward to Obi implementing.
I publicly backed those policies, cause I believe they were in the best interest of the country.
On the other hand, the same Peter Obi I once supported started speaking against these policies he once campaigned with.
I publicly called out that deceitful behaviour.
Ladies and gentlemen, that’s how I became an APC data boy.
This was Tinubu over a decade ago.
The problem is if you ask Obi today, he will deny everything he said in that video.
He will say giving loans to the “children of the poor” is bad.
Once you take away the “corruption” in the university system, you will see that government can provide free education
He’s a duplicitous character who just panders to what the masses want to hear.
At least Tinubu is consistent with his policies. Many of the things he’s doing currently can be traced back decades.
