this is why our coverage of Bradford's Islamophobic endorsers matters. he showcases support from prominent Muslims, but also from prominent folks who direct hate at Muslims btw peep the comments to see how some of his online supporters feel about Muslim endorsers
I'm grateful to Imam Ismail Ulghar for calling from his Umrah pilgrimage to offer his blessings and making dua. Imam Ismail is a well-known Islamic scholar in Ontario and across Canada, and his kind words about our campaign and our shared commitment to building a better Toronto for everyone are deeply appreciated.

My thoughts are with the friends and family of beloved Torontonian and voice actor, Eric Bauza. He represented our city — and Scarborough — so well, with his immense creative talent and love for Toronto. My heart goes out to everyone who knew him and loved the incredible characters he brought to life with his voice.

Brazil’s results tonight are a big endorsement for the idea that every country should have a second “are you you sure about that” election a couple weeks after the first one for the important stuff

Hey @BradMBradford, @tobi, claims if you were elected, a photo like this wouldn’t be posted by City comms. Could you please elaborate on why he’d think that? Would you pass a motion to ban City accounts from posting any photo of two men in it?

On Monday, I had the incredible honour of being officially sworn in as the Member of Provincial Parliament for Scarborough Southwest. This moment means more to me than words can express. From growing up in Scarborough as a young immigrant to now having the privilege of representing the very community that raised me, this is a moment I will never forget. I am deeply grateful to everyone who believed in me, supported me, and helped make this possible. But this moment is not just about making history. It is about the responsibility that comes with it. I am here to listen, to work hard, to stand up for our community, and to deliver meaningful change for the people of Scarborough Southwest. Thank you for putting your trust in me. ❤️

The BC Greens and Emily Lowan out here running an absolute clinic on digital political communications. Some of the sharpest artillery aimed at the BC Conservatives this entire campaign. No notes. Absolute banger.

If the first Toronto mayor to seriously fix the city's finances is also the first incumbent to lose reelection, this city will be doomed to austerity and crumbling infrastructure for decades.

I get raising taxes is never going to be good come an election, but Chow's increases were literally just to balance the flaming budget Tory left while restarting basic maintenance we'd neglected for 13 yrs. These ppl act like Chow spent $1 billion on gay dog weddings or something
Replying to @raghu_venugopal
One candidate raised our property tax 19.8%. One candidate created Luxury Home Municipal Land Transfer Tax, sliding-scale tax rate starting at 4.4% and reaching up to 8.6%. One candidate raised water and garbage pickup rates by 3.75%. One candidate even threatened us with “rain tax”. But hey! Who knows what candidate I am even referring to at this point, right? It could be anyone really!

"Lisa, a guy who has lots of ivory is less likely to hurt Stampy than a guy whose ivory supplies are low” is amazing Homer Logic
Little girl, I've had lots of jobs in my day. Whale hunter, seal clubber, president of the Fox network. And, like most people, yeah, I've dealt a little ivory.

So Bradley makes a showy announcement about opening the subway earlier, but can’t be bothered to respond to a survey about a major transit riders organization’s priorities? Par for the course for his grievance-based campaign #TOpoli

incredibly cynical that incumbent parties use fear mongering like this to stifle political ideas, parties - most often to the left of them - because we have a electoral system that doesn’t and won’t represent the natural variety of people’s opinions, just afraid of losing power
New from the @bcndp campaign this morning: an appeal not to vote @BCGreens. NDP eventually does this every election, saying Greens will split the vote and elect other parties. Voters usually vote Green anyway. NDP extremely worried about Greens on Island.

Every winter I think about Khaleel and what he was trying to do to help unhoused and vulnerable citizens. Instead of hiring him as a consultant and contractor, the city wasted taxpayers' money suing him for violating ByLaws, and of course paid a white man to copy Khaleel's idea.
Khaleel Seivwright, a Black carpenter in Toronto, built free insulated mini shelters for homeless people so they could survive freezing winter nights. The small wooden structures are designed to stay warm using just body heat.

Not only has Bike Share ridership continued to grow 11% year-over-year, it has quietly become *profitable* for the first time. That's right, when the province removes safe bike routes, they are also harming a *revenue-source* for the city.
