Spread awareness - not invasive species! This #NISAW, help keep Pigeon Lake healthy. The most important thing you can do is decontaminate your boat and gear when moving them between water bodies, and telling your neighbors to do the same! @ABInvasives
We're excited to see everyone tomorrow! Come try ice fishing, enjoy a hot dog, and enter to win a draw prize. Thank you to Samson Cree Nation for sponsoring this event, as well as the Alberta Conservation Association, the Village Emporium, and Buy-Low Foods for their donations.
PLWA works closely with the Battle River Watershed Alliance, who believes partnerships create opportunities for work to go MUCH further than it could alone. Join Alberta's WPACs for World Water Day on March 22nd! bit.ly/3Xvs7IJ

Last Friday, PLWA staff and volunteers helped the Alberta Lake Management Society and Alberta Biodiversity Monitoring Institute to do some winter monitoring of Pigeon Lake. It was a beautiful day to get out on the ice!

Look at the bright side of these temps. We no longer have people asking if the ice is thick enough. Happy winter Solstice.

Depending on where you live in the province, ice fishing season may have begun! Regardless of the weather, ice thickness and quality can be unpredictable.

Watershed Wednesday! Did you know that rivers have life cycles? Check out the different faces of rivers! They can be straight, braided, meandering and have oxbows! Oxbows are mini lakes that are created by detached pieces of a meandering stream! #abwater #watershedwednesday

Super proud of my dad Robert Gibbs and his role in protecting Pigeon Lake from nutrient run-off. Today he gave a guest lecture at the UofA for the undergrad course "A planet in crisis" on the @PLWAInfo's role in the rejection of a confined feedlot proposal. #prouddaughtermoment
