Mark Cuban’s sale of the Mavericks has long been reported as being at a $3.5B valuation, though I’ve consistently reported $3.9B. Here, though, he says the valuation was $4.3B.
Mark Cuban reveals why he ultimately sold the Dallas Mavericks after buying the team for $285 million and selling it for $4.3 billion
"It went from being about basketball to being about valuations. And it went from, 'Hey, I love basketball and this is all about basketball,' to the NBA being more about, 'Okay, how much are these teams worth?'"
"In order to compete, you had to be good at real estate and things that had nothing to do with basketball."
"I never thought I would sell, but then things changed around me and I guess, you know, having kids changed me as well."

Cooper Flagg played like a Top 5 player in the league tonight. This is not exaggeration go watch that game if you missed it. My goodness

Catching up on Heat-Mavs. Cooper Flagg’s shot making down the stretch was incredible. Dallas has one of the best shot makers in the NBA in Kyrie and Dusty Maye put the ball in Flagg’s hands down the stretch.

Cooper Flagg is an extraordinary defender. My goodness what a block on Andrew Wiggins.

That was an MVP type of performance by Cooper Flagg. Too early to talk awards, of course. I’m just saying. 29 points, 11 assists, 6 boards, 4 steals, 2 blocks. A clutch block on a 3, the dagger layup, and countless other winning plays. A defining early season game by Flagg.
