Bizarrely, the story about @michaelgove’s former girlfriend charged with possessing child pornography, is no longer on the Daily Mail website.

Mañana es un buen día para recordar que el problema no es el psicópata de Netanyahu sino toda una sociedad supremacista y enferma de odio

“Israeli elections are fun because Israeli parties all support genocide and apartheid” Fun fun fun!!
Israeli elections are fun because: 1. Israel is the subject of intense global interest 2. Israeli politics is deeply polarized 3. Despite (2), the blocs don't really disagree about the thing that the world is interested in

What a horrendous individual Michael Gove is. Recommend IDF for a Nobel Peace Prize and denies a genocide is taking place in Gaza. The country is down the shitter because of people like this scum. It's a lot deeper than a load of white stuff up the hooter.

This is a map of voting sites in Jerusalem. As you can see, they are completely absent from most of East Jerusalem, where the majority is Palestinian. This is how apartheid works. You give a small and harmless minority of Palestinians the right to vote, take pictures of them and talk about how you have democracy. Then you don't let them into the coalition and make sure only Jews have power.

Do I care about results of Israeli election? Nothing is at stake in Israel and nothing at all will change as a result of the elections but … there is a small chance the US could use a Netanyahu defeat to extricate itself from a war in Iran it has lost and Trump wants finished

The most laughably stupid Israeli hasbara line you’ll hear today: “Arabs can vote in Israel, so it can’t be apartheid.” Now tell me: how can more than 700,000 Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, vote in Israeli elections, while Palestinians living in the same territory cannot?

It’s futile engaging with this misinformation. Zionists live in a fantasy realm.
Israel is having its election today and every adult citizen - regardless of background or ethnicity - is able to vote. In fact, out of 380 million Arab citizens in two dozen countries in the Middle East, the only ones who really get to choose their government in free and fair elections are the 2.1 million who live in the equal, diverse and multicultural democracy that is Israel. The only Arab citizens who live in a democracy are the Israeli Arab citizens of the free and open country of Israel, the only liberal democracy in the whole of the Middle East.

If the Interior Minister of Japan started committing war crimes with our tax dollars we'd get to know him.
NYT's Bret Stephens whines that Democrats know "Smotrich and Ben-Gvir" but not "the interior minister of Japan." Their "obsession" with Israel drives him "crazy." (Being politically informed on Israel is now anti-Semitic.)

How many journalists covering Israel’s election have reported that the incumbent is wanted for war crimes?

On this Israeli election day, I’d recommend reading this extraordinary @haaretzcom interview with billionaire Ronald Lauder, president of the World Jewish Congress and once one of Benjamin Netanyahu’s closest confidants. One of Lauder’s most striking conclusions: “I realized at the end of the day that Israel really didn't want peace, but they wanted dominance.” This is coming from someone who helped launch Netanyahu’s political career, introduced him to powerful figures in American politics and media, and secretly negotiated with Hafez al-Assad and Rafik Hariri on his behalf in the late 1990s. In one of the interview’s biggest revelations, Lauder says Netanyahu agreed to a comprehensive peace deal with Syria and Lebanon, including withdrawal from the Golan Heights, but ultimately refused to sign it for political reasons. “He chose politics over peace. He put his political future before the deal.” Now 82, Lauder describes his profound disillusionment with Israel’s direction. After decades of supporting Israeli and Jewish institutions, he has sold his Tel Aviv apartment, given away his Be’er Sheva property, and says he has no intention of returning to Israel. He warns that Netanyahu’s dependence on figures like Ben-Gvir and Smotrich is damaging Israel, alienating diaspora Jews and eroding support in Washington. The interview is also full of fascinating details about Lauder’s role in Netanyahu’s political rise. The two became close friends in the 1980s, when Netanyahu was Israel’s ambassador to the UN, speaking almost daily at times. Lauder says he introduced Netanyahu to speech coach Lilyan Wilder to improve his public speaking and, crucially, to Republican strategist Arthur Finkelstein, who would become instrumental in Netanyahu’s electoral success. When Netanyahu left New York to pursue a political career in Israel, Lauder threw him a farewell party attended by some of the most influential figures in American media and politics, including Rupert Murdoch and the head of the New York Times. Lauder recalls opening doors for Netanyahu and helping him cultivate the relationships that would underpin his rise to power. What makes this interview so revealing is that Lauder is no longtime critic of Israel. He had been a committed Zionist, a Republican power broker, and a man who spent decades financing Jewish institutions, cultivating relationships with Arab leaders, and pursuing diplomatic openings on Israel’s behalf. A fascinating read 👇 haaretz.com/israel-news/elec…

Nothing will change for the Palestinians. They'll continue to be bombed, dispossessed and see their lands stolen by Israel.
Turnout in Israel is currently 44.9% — the highest recorded at 2pm in Israeli history. I'm optimistic this means Netanyahu's end. Polls won't have reflected how many will decide on the day that they can't vote for a man who presided over the biggest slaughter of Jews since WW2.

Just Rishi Sunak earning £6265/ hour advising Goldman Sachs and £7729/hour consulting to Microsoft... while sitting as a backbench MP. The median UK salary is £41k/year. Sunak earns that in just over five hours consulting for Microsoft. What service is he providing, exactly?
My focus is normally Labour MPs, but look at this. Rishi Sunak earns £2.2 million from his side jobs with Anthropic, Microsoft and Goldman Sachs while still being an MP. 💰💰💰

If Melanie Phillips can get her article entitled "Islamophobia is a fiction to shut down debate" published in The Times, we can say antisemitism is a fiction to shut down debate on Israel. Anything else would be double standards. Agreed?
Antisemitism does not exist. No one hates Jews. People hate racist genocidal Israel. That is not hating Jews!

Fortescue to Chowns on Greens4Palestine: "This group obviously has a big influence over your partys direction... do you think they should be kicked out of the party?" Can you imagine a journalist asking, should Labour Friends of Israel be kicked out of Labour? Of course you cant

Preet Gill’s record: ❗️ Labour Friends of Israel supporter ❗️Voted to proscribe Palestine Action ❗️Refused to call for a ceasefire in November 2023 ❗️Won't call Israel's atrocities in Gaza a genocide. Birmingham Edgbaston deserves so much better than this.
I have joined Birmingham Labour colleagues in writing to the Council Leader. Green cabinet members must publicly disown their party’s “Zionism is Racism” motion. If they refuse, the power sharing agreement must end. Standing against racism requires leadership and action. 👇🏽
