“A worker on the national minimum wage would need several lifetimes to earn what the President's son wears on one wrist. When the household of the President and the youth leader of his party flaunt such wealth in a season of hunger, insecurity and joblessness, they are not merely displaying poor taste; they are telling Nigerians, in the plainest possible terms, how little their suffering registers in the corridors of power.
"Why is Bola inflicting such pain on Nigerians while those closest to his government enjoy such lavish privilege? Nigerians need answers, not another display of wealth for political mobilisation.
"When I am sworn in as President, every naira found to have been spent illegally will be thoroughly investigated, and everyone found culpable will be brought to justice.

Today, 17 October, marks the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty. Yesterday, we were out inspecting the site of a development project in Osun State, one with the potential to create employment and expand livelihood opportunities for our people.
The timing is particularly significant because poverty eradication cannot be achieved through declarations alone. It requires deliberate investments in productive capacity, job creation, enterprise development and the institutions that enable people to participate meaningfully in economic life.
From a development perspective, employment is not simply about earning an income. It is also about dignity, agency, social mobility and the capacity of households to meet their needs without remaining trapped in cycles of vulnerability and dependency.
This is why development projects must be assessed not only by the infrastructure they deliver or the capital they attract, but also by the economic opportunities they create, the livelihoods they sustain and the extent to which their benefits reach ordinary people.
For Osun, our task is to translate development investments into tangible improvements in people’s lives. This means creating pathways to productive employment, strengthening local economic activity and ensuring that growth is both inclusive and sustainable.
Ultimately, poverty eradication is not merely about lifting people above a statistical poverty line; it is about expanding their capabilities, strengthening their economic agency and creating the conditions in which they can live with dignity and opportunity.
That is the development question we must continually ask: not simply what are we building, but what economic and social transformation will it make possible for our people?

Today, I celebrate my Chief of Staff, Alhaji Kazeem Kolapo Akinleye, on the occasion of his 57th birthday.
Kazeem Akinleye has been a dependable brother, a loyal ally and a committed team player whose contributions to our administration remain invaluable. I call him the engine room of our administration and the class captain of my cabinet because of his exceptional ability to coordinate people, manage competing interests and keep the machinery of government running effectively.
Through the ups and downs of our political journey, including the difficult moments before our victory, he has remained steadfast and loyal. His wealth of experience, grassroots understanding and practical approach to problem-solving continue to strengthen our collective commitment to delivering good governance to the people of Osun State.
On this special day, I pray for good health, greater wisdom, renewed strength and many more prosperous years for him. May God continue to guide and bless him as we work together in the service of our dear state and its people.
Happy Birthday Kazeem!
Discount of ₦60?
An oil-producing state selling fuel at ₦1,350 per litre? That’s outrageous! Our economic managers seem to have no clear strategy beyond trial and error, while millions of Nigerians bear the brunt. – at Oshogbo, Nigeria

I am delighted to share that Osun State’s Imole Solar Lamp has received a Special recognition at the 2026 IEEE Smart Cities Awards!
This international recognition places Osun among innovative cities and regions from across the world acknowledged for advancing smarter, more sustainable and resilient communities.
For me, this recognition represents something much bigger than an award. It affirms a philosophy that has consistently shaped my work in climate governance and renewable energy: climate action must move beyond policy documents and international commitments to deliver tangible improvements in people’s everyday lives.
What does a smart city mean to a community struggling with energy access? What does climate innovation mean to a young person seeking opportunity, a small business owner trying to grow, or a family looking for safer and more reliable lighting? These are the questions that should shape our understanding of sustainable development.
Under the administration of His Excellency, Governor Ademola Adeleke, Osun State continues to pursue a development pathway that connects renewable energy, climate action, circular economy innovation and inclusive growth.
As Director-General and Special Envoy of the Governor of Osun State on Climate Change and Renewable Energy, I believe deeply that Africa must not merely participate in the global conversation about smart cities. We must help redefine that conversation, drawing on our realities, our ingenuity and our understanding of what our people truly need.
Our cities do not have to replicate every model developed elsewhere. We can build solutions that are technologically relevant, socially responsive, environmentally sustainable and grounded in the lived experiences of our communities. The Imole Solar Lamp recognition is an encouraging affirmation of that vision.
My appreciation goes to IEEE Smart Cities and the distinguished international jury for recognising this initiative, and to everyone contributing to Osun State’s climate and renewable-energy journey.
From Osun to the world, we are demonstrating that innovation can be people-centred, climate-conscious and locally rooted while earning global recognition.
This is the work. This is the vision. And we are only getting started.

Yesterday, I signed the Osun State Park Management Bill into law, marking an important step in our efforts to modernise the transportation system in Osun State.
I commend the Speaker and members of the Osun State House of Assembly for their commitment and diligence in processing this legislation. The new law provides a framework for addressing longstanding challenges within our transportation park system while promoting efficient service delivery.
As implementation begins, my administration will ensure that the interests of Osun people, transport operators and other stakeholders are accommodated. Our goal is a modern, orderly and sustainable transport system that improves the experience of commuters and operators across the state.
We remain committed to building an Osun transportation sector that works for everyone.

Two reputations Osogbo/Ọ̀ṣun was known for in those days have now been lost, maybe completely.
1. Affordability
2. Peaceful and quiet environment
It was all cool until sometimes around 2011 thereabouts when there was great exodus into Ọ̀ṣun.
Sure, things will never be the same again, but we need to act NOW.

The contracts at the centre of the dispute were awarded in 2017, when Osun was governed by Rauf Aregbesola, and Oyetola as Chief of Staff. Osun's own procurement records list Gamji's two contracts in April and June 2017.
Adeleke assumed office in November 2022, so he inherited the project/dispute.
Nigerians don't need NELFUND. Did our leaders have to get such before they could obtain higher education? Likewise you and I. The APC has made life harder for the masses and is now making political gains from the hardship. Remember, it is a loan, not an educational support grant.

It’s exactly one week since I joined fellow citizens in Osogbo for an environmental cleanup in commemoration of #WorldCleanupDay.
I took part because I believe keeping our environment clean is a collective responsibility. Government has a responsibility to provide the right systems, enforce environmental regulations, and take every genuine effort seriously. Citizens, too, must play their part by raising awareness, keeping their surroundings clean, and complying with the rules.
The cleanup may have happened a week ago, but the responsibility continues.
Kudos to everyone and every organization that took part. A cleaner Osun requires all of us.

To everyone who came out on Saturday, September 19, to mark World Cleanup Day 2026 in Osogbo - thank you.
From the volunteers and community mobilisers, to The Unofficial Aides, RAN Osogbo Chapter, Ministry of Environment, OWMA, environmental officers, the DSS, Nigeria Police Force, NSCDC, FRSC, youth groups, community leaders, photographers, media practitioners and every individual who gave their time and energy - we see you, and we appreciate you.
Thank you to everyone who shared, posted, encouraged, mobilised or simply showed up. You helped turn a conversation about a cleaner Osogbo into action.
But Saturday was never meant to be the end.
It was a beginning.
Our next cleanup is already being planned, and we will continue building a sustained culture of cleaner communities, better waste practices, recycling and environmental responsibility across Osun.
Thank you for showing what is possible when government, citizens, communities and partners come together for the environment.

Yesterday, we turned talk into action in Osogbo.
We stepped out to clean our environment, engage our communities, and prove that a cleaner city is possible when we work together.
The difference is visible, but our work is far from done.
September 19 was just the kickoff for a continuous environmental movement. We will keep cleaning, sensitizing, taking responsibility, and sustaining the momentum.
A cleaner Osun starts with you and I.
