I now have the actual final injunction order, and it's worse than I thought: nitter.gq/DanNeidle/status/21190…
On Thursday I wrote about the 2014 injunction Russell Brand obtained against a woman who accused him of assault. I've now obtained the final order. It's breathtaking. She had no lawyer. No trial. Yet she was silenced for life - even barred from speaking to the police. 🧵:

“I asked a few AI researchers whether they could name any other real-world software that scales so poorly. None of them could think of any. Even outside the world of software, it’s hard to find a comparable example, given that economy of scale is the principle that has made light bulbs, cars, and clothing so affordable. By economic and engineering measures, generative AI might be the worst technology ever deployed” @_alexreisner @TheAtlantic In “Generative AI is an engineering disaster” theatlantic.com/technology/2…

Every other day a new motorhome appears in my mother-in-law's drive and Neil hands me another bucket full of jewellery and cosmetics. I can only assume he's got himself a part time job I'm too busy to ask about.

Well. Someone sent me a link on here now to the full signed US treaties with the Kingdom of Denmark (I’ve actually got to cover some economics at Davos at some point, so please stop…) Includes the actual $25 million gold certificate lodged in the deal by President Wilson:

Incredible… the story is actually not a parody. just had confirmed live on BBC Breakfast, from here in Davos, that yes, President Trump sent THAT note to the Norwegian PM saying that because they hadn’t given the Nobel Peace Prize, he could now justify owning Greenland.
Even by the standards of the past week, like others, I struggle to comprehend how the below letter on Greenland/Nobel might be real, although it appears to come from the account of a respected PBS journalist… this is what I meant by beyond precedent, parody and reality….

What possible justification can there be for charging graduates earning over £50k 6.2% interest, while their peers earning less are only charged 3.2% (and the BoE base rate is 4%) This feels like the kind of thing Wonga would do, not the British state

So triple-locked pensions and benefits rise with inflation -- but not tax thresholds or student loan repayment levels? That seems weird to me, totally unequal fiscal drag on working people vs recipients of state spending.
This seems to have been ignored - will have a big impact

My grandfather bought an apartment from Blackrock on a 200 year mortgage. 1 bed, 1 bath, no car. My family has been paying it off for 80 years now. We're nearly half way there. We're so grateful that we're not renting. And in just 2 more generations, we'll own it outright. We've only paid $8.6 million in interest. The apartment was $500k initially. The apartment's downtown, near GloboCorp where my grandfather used to work. He died at his desk and they forgot to tell us about it. We found out a few weeks later, only because Blackrock starting chasing us for mortgage payments. Sometimes I get sad knowing that I won't see the apartment paid off in my lifetime. But I know we're building Generational Wealth, so that's OK.

Every second a Labour MP spends campaigning for a wealth tax is a second that could be spent campaigning for real tax reform that could make the tax system fairer, boost economic growth and (unlike the wealth tax) actually happen. A thread:

Graham Linehan says he was arrested at the airport by five armed police officers as if he's a terrorist - for 3 tweets. The video I posted yesterday is very relevant. Whatever you think of @glinner's opinions, if true, this is horrifying overreach. grahamlinehan.substack.com/p…
A worrying amount of people in the UK forget this:

It doesn't matter what you think of Graham Linehan's views, this is an insane level of overreach and a complete waste of police time.
Five armed police arrest a comedy writer (@glinner) at the airport for three tweets. These tweets contained no threats, no incitement, nothing of the sort. Those who consider this a win should think carefully how enabling this kind of overreach will ALWAYS bite you in the arse. Utterly ridiculous by any measure.

This is ridiculous and a complete waste of police time. The police only respond to 1 in 5 reported shoplifting offences, but deployed 5 armed officers to arrest a comedian over three tweets. We desperately need to end this nonsense and go after actual criminals.

Urged by who - Nigel Farage - the dickhead who created the problem in the first place with his Brexit shitshow, despite being told that this is exactly what would happen? Fuck right off.
