I thought this was fake when I first saw it. Now the parents are saying they were fake cigars? That’s obviously a lie but how stupid is this? School administrators and MIAA continue to be the most brain dead humans on the planet. Imagine getting suspended for smoking a cigar at graduation? Insane
Per a source, a series of Ipswich lacrosse seniors were smoking cigars during a graduation-related celebration, and were therefore unable to play in today's Div. 4 semifinal under the circumstances. The school then made its decision to forfeit. @BosHeraldSports @Murray_Jack_

Ding. Ding. Ding. It’s not the top kids that this system will fail. It’s the kids who make $500k and then $600k. They graduate, their careers sputter out and then go to get an office job and make $75k. What are they going to do then. The ncaa won’t care…

Asked Alex Karaban if he sees himself as an example for the next generation of college players:
"I want the old ways of college basketball to come back... Guys stay for 4 years, stay loyal, and realize the grass isn't always greener on the other side"

I asked Tom Izzo about the viral clip of Charles Barkley defending his coaching style by saying people have gotten too soft.
Izzo: "Now we're supposed to just hug and kiss everybody... Accountability is going to be big until I leave."
I truly could not be prouder of Jake. He has had to sacrifice so much to help this program grow. More so, he is a young man of the highest character and a truly special person !
Congratulations to Jake Freeman (@jakefreeman_11) on making all ISL first team. Jake has had a remarkable two seasons at Middlesex helping to create a culture of hard work, determination, and selflessness. Can’t wait to watch him continue his career at Rollins.

The 2026 Spring Season is Dedicated to Connor Peterson #42
Connor was a special member of the New England Elite family. His impact on our program went far beyond basketball. Every time Connor stepped into the gym, he represented the values that we believe define what it means to be part of New England Elite.
Connor’s legacy was built on:
Toughness
Curiosity
Humility
Humor
Those qualities defined the way Connor lived, the way he played, and the way he treated others.
Throughout the 2026 Spring Season, our players, coaches, and families will honor Connor by embodying those same values in everything we do — on the court and off

Parents out screwing their kids up.
1. If whatever the sport is comes before academics you're already going backwards.
2 . Graphics don't get kids recruited
3. College Coaches don't care what 8U, 9U, 10U or a middle schooler is doing.
4. Just because you think your kid is a baller doesn't mean he/she is one. Put them in situations against the top players in the area/region and see how they stack up.
5. Stop getting mad when others opinions don't align with yours.
6. If you don’t understand that relationships are important you don't understand recruiting.
7. Let your kid be a kid.

Youth sports isn’t dying from lack of talent. It’s dying from overload. No free play, rest, recovery, off-seasons. Too many showcases & tournaments. Not enough development. Parent ego + social media pressure fuel the fire. We don’t need more exposure. We need better environments.

It’s been an incredibly tough week — the kind that makes you stop and really think about what this whole thing is truly about. Coaching isn’t about the trophies, the medals, or the cheap t-shirts. Those fade fast.
What lasts are the relationships — the bond between a coach and his players. That’s what defines this job, this life. In the end, nobody remembers the records or the wins. They remember who showed up for them. They remember who cared.
Because coaching isn’t just about teaching the game. It’s about trust. It’s about belief. It’s about the moments when the players end up teaching you something about yourself.
That’s the heart of it all. The rest? The rest is just noise.

A horrible tragedy occurred this week, one of former Mass Elite players Connor Peterson passed away after a tragic accident.
During the Spring/Summer of 2018, we captured a lot of video footage of Connor and his coaches and teammates. We are happy to share some of the footage, as it demonstrates what a large impact Connor had on everyone around him. Connor was a natural leader, extremely humble and he had a very witty sense of humor. His smile could light up any room he entered.
We will never forget you CP ❤️

An important message for parents.
Negativity at home always finds its way to the locker room.
Parents have the power to help build a positive culture…or poison it.
