No one teaches the real Nietzsche in university. His philosophy is too scary and threatening to the liberal democratic order.

Anger is positively associated with creative performance.
Being angry helped people solve 39% more puzzles on a difficult task and perform better on a challenging video game. The advantage was seen on hard tasks, not easy ones.

The philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein was, famously, not a fan of William Shakespeare. He wrote in 1946 that “Shakespeare's similes are, in the ordinary sense, bad.” But Wittgenstein’s opinion was not only one fuelled by aesthetic dislike. Professor of Philosophy William Day argues that Wittgenstein sees in Shakespeare a fellow explorer of skepticism, but one willing to travel down dark alleys that Wittgenstein himself sought to avoid. "What Wittgenstein covers his ears to may be just this silence, this nothing, that the Shakespearean tragic hero craves," writes Day. Tap here to read the full article. iai.tv/articles/shakespeare-…

When Spain and Brazil socialist leaders are facing election issues and a possible end of their career simultaneously, I call it a beautiful, beautiful day! Socialism sucks, kids. Everyone, who lives in socialism, will vote against it, if they‘re still allowed to vote, of course.

“I think there are two types of totalitarianism in our world. They are both essentially connected to Christianity. The first type, which, in a way, is the most honest, is neopaganism. Following Nietzsche, it says: ‘We don't want any of this [Christian concern for victims] business—it is sickness; a society has to be able to sacrifice [scapegoats]. The late Nietzsche says that very explicitly; it's been expurgated—no one talks about it because it's too close to Nazism. And everybody says Nietzsche has nothing to do with Nazism, but I think Nietzsche is the real philosopher of Nazism in the highest sense. This totalitarianism says that we're going to kill so many victims that were going to show you that the significance of our culture is not the ending of victimage, and we're going to reinstate paganism. ... The other form of totalitarianism, which is on the ascendancy because the first one is gone, is overdoing [the concern for victims]. You have to remember that communism, all forms of totalitarianism on the left are [solutions for] the failure of Christianity and all religions to abolish scapegoating and [essentially say] ‘we have the better way to do it—because we know it's a social phenomenon, because we know it's a psychological phenomenon as the psychoanalysts will tell you, because we know it has something to do with race (there are certain races that don't scapegoat and others that do), and so forth.’ So, in a way, it's the ‘super’ Christianity that communism tried to be, and I think we're going to see other forms of it which might be infinitely worse that what we have seen in the past.” — René Girard, a 1994 talk
“The genius of Nietzsche made him capable of seeing that this value [the Christian concern for victims] defines our era; but he did everything he could to fight it. All he saw in the Christian attitude was resentment, endless jeremiads, mediocre pity: it was doubtless already a little true in his era, and it is even truer today; but it isn't true at the origin, nor fundamentally: he mistook the caricature for the original. The people who defend him today talk about every Nietzsche but that one: that one is the only true, the only one, and the only, Nazi thinker. We want to forget that Nietzsche and Nazism are indissolubly linked.” — René Girard
