On February 11, 2026, U.S. Representative Josh Gottheimer directly called out Pumpfun at an SEC hearing:

There are two things worth noting about this coin's narrative.
First, the original congressional hearing footage provides real, endlessly shareable material. The regulator's criticism of memes ironically became the meme's own distribution fuel.
