My predictions over the following months:
1. Stock market will get hurt bad when the music stops on data centers, models, and chips.
Too much froth, too high of investment, too many companies will fail. The switching costs are low. I don't know how these companies will become profitable. Its a mega bubble.
The rest of the economy is already in a deep recession. Real pain will set in when the public markets dive.
2. Power is the bottleneck.
AI is burning an absurd amount of power. The cost of electricity is skyrocketing which is making the cost of everyday life more expensive and hurting quality of life. I'm against data centers because of the power, not the water.
The grid is extremely fragile and the weakness will be exposed in the coming months.
3. Subsidies are skewing the market.
AI isn't cheap. The prices to use it are artificially low because of subsidies all the way up the chain.
You pay $20 or $200 a month but the true costs are 10x That spread is venture capital money being incinerated at scale.
When they raise the price, the users will disappear and investors will hold the bag.
3. A big security breach is coming.
A bank, a certain model, something is going to rock our world.
People are letting bots log in to their banks, their email and everything else. Big trouble coming.
4. Grokbot is exceptional.
Its the first model that is adding significant value to my everyday life. I don't know why anybody would use a different personal assistant.
5. AI is insanely high maintenance
Billions are being poured into training the next model. They day it comes out its already behind. China has cheaper electricity and more chips.
The chips they bought will be obsolete in 18 months.
Companies are stuck paying big money every month to maintain and update all of their AI tools. Its a mess.
6. The power companies will renege on their deals.
Political pressure will unwind all the unsustainable power deals these data centers and LLMs have negotiated.
Power costs will explode. Then comes the choice:
Do we jack up costs for our AI / compute and watch everybody switch to the next model or do we incinerate more VC capital? Nobody wins.
7. Credit will be the first domino to fall.
Data centers are already struggling to finance the GPUs over 10 years when they will be obsolete in 18 months. We'll end up with a shit load of half built data centers who can't negotiate power rates or buy chips because nobody will let them borrow money.
The money will get cold feet as soon as the markets tank and the show will be over.
8. It'll be a dark, dark period in economic markets.
The people who own assets that make real money (real estate or businesses) will win.
The people who plan ahead and avoid massive leverage will win.
The people with cash on their balance sheet will accumulate more assets and generate exceptional wealth.

So sorry to hear that Walter Koenig has passed away. I knew Walter to be a very sincere, friendly, and no-nonsense man. He took his craft seriously and I very much respected him for that. He had the gift of listening to you and responding with sensitivity and wisdom. RIP Walter.
It's as though we can predict what happens when a society gets Islamized.
Wow, this is what Yemen looked like in the 1960s under British rule. That was over half a century ago, but it looked decades more advanced than Yemen does today.
It’s almost unbelievable compared to what the country has become. And it’s a testament to how quickly a country can collapse once Islam reigns supreme.

It's a toxic, performative place, full of tryhards and idiots. Your reviews aren't good. They aren't funny or wise.
You are not erudite enough to articulate your written thoughts on a movie in a way that adds ANY public value.

“Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there-on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.
The Earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena. Think of the endless cruelties visited by the inhabitants of one corner of this pixel on the scarcely distinguishable inhabitants of some other corner, how frequent their misunderstandings, how eager they are to kill one another, how fervent their hatreds. Think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those generals and emperors so that, in glory and triumph, they could become the momentary masters of a fraction of a dot.
Our posturings, our imagined self-importance, the delusion that we have some privileged position in the Universe, are challenged by this point of pale light. Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves.
The Earth is the only world known so far to harbor life. There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, to which our species could migrate. Visit, yes. Settle, not yet. Like it or not, for the moment the Earth is where we make our stand.
It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we've ever known.”

This land was named “Palestine” by the Romans nearly 2,000 years ago, after crushing a Jewish revolt, as an attempt to erase Jewish identity and invoke the memory of the Jews’ long-defeated biblical enemies, the Philistines.
For millennia, the region was ruled by various empires. In the centuries before the establishment of Israel, it was ruled by the Turkish Ottomans and later the British. There was never an independent Arab state here called Palestine.
Golda Meir put it plainly:
“East and West Bank was Palestine. I’m a Palestinian. From ’21 to ’48 I carried a Palestinian passport. There was no such thing here as Jews, Arabs and Palestinians. There were Jews and Arabs.”

I’m sick to my stomach. I honestly never thought that I would witness such an antisemitic piece of American political propaganda in my lifetime. This is Nazi-Islamic antisemitism delivered against the Jewish collective in 2026 in the United States. By endorsing Abdel El-Sayed, the Democratic Party has crossed a threshold that signals a sickening decay of dangerous proportions to the American Jewish community. If this ad isn’t pulled with an explicit apology to the Jewish community, I will say Kaddish over my country of birth. I’m disgusted by what was once a great country. Voting Democratic is now like voting for the Nazi party. Anyone who rationalizes this ad as anything other than an Islamic-Nazi propaganda piece that scapegoats the collective Jew for cheap political currency has succumbed to antizionist brainwashing. x.com/Joelmpetlin/st…
New low for normalized Jew-hate in the American Democratic Party. Very sad:
Painting your political opponents as puppets of Jews, as this El-Sayed ad does, and as crazed baby-killers and money-grubbing villains who are the root cause of every bad thing not just in the world, but in your life—from wars to the price of eggs to the reason you can’t have free healthcare—is not just low-grade Jew-hate. It’s pure Third Reich stuff, translated directly from the original German.
Do you remember when Jewish Democrats in Michigan explained that they would vote for El-Sayed despite his open disdain for Jews, since there are many other important issues they need him to fight for? That anything was worth it to “defeat MAGA”?
Well, here’s El-Sayed’s answer to them: Don’t worry, all those issues we agree on, like healthcare, inflation, and climate change, I’m going to make them about Jews too! I will tell the public that the Jews are the reason they can’t have those things.

Like it or not, LOADS of viewers will STILL ROOT for Paul as the HERO, as Frank Herbert intended. Both the films and books portray him as trapped by prescience, with no better choices. This allows us to sympathize with Paul and root for him while still recognizing the dangers of powerful large human systems, which is also what Herbert intended.
FOR THIS REASON, positioning Chani in opposition to Paul risks making her the antagonist to what many audiences see as his most reasonable, albeit terrible, course of action.
Commodore Pavel Chekov has passed on to Sto-vo-kor. The Klingons made sure he arrived with honor, but mostly just to finally prove to the Starfleet Officer that their afterlife was not located just outside of Murmansk.
Rest in Peace Walter Koenig. No one could say “nuclear vessels” the way you could. Honored to have shared an Inglorious Treksperts Podcast with you.

My thoughts of late have returned to this amazing scene by @WilliamShatner, made decades ago.
As a young person, I found it tremendously inspiring. A code to live by.
But it didn’t play out quite like we expected.
The “fantastically advanced” life that we actually ended up encountering is right here, on Earth. All around us now.
The key issue of our time is becoming this:
Not everyone signed up for this mission, or the risk. And what we do about that, ultimately, is where the debate about AI will end up.

To all the snowflakes upset about police brutality: if you don’t want to see violence in the streets, don’t instigate violence in the streets.
Don’t go around looting businesses. Don’t go around burning down shops. Don’t go around waving foreign flags and promoting “intifada” and terrorist groups while violently attacking police and state institutions.
