.@POTUS has been clear: America will dominate the seas. The @USNavy and @USMC deliver the combat power that deters our enemies, protects our way of life, and secures the homeland. Adm. Caudle, Gen. Smith, and I recognize that the heart of our naval force is not found in the Pentagon, it starts at home - it is in the family and friends who support them. Our Nation's safety, prosperity, and the values we hold dear are upheld by the strength of our military families. Thank you for standing behind our warfighters.

During this government shutdown, the mission of the @USNavy–@USMC team continues without pause though not without challenges and uncertainty. I am laser-focused on managing impacts, protecting critical operations, easing burdens, and championing your needs. We will keep support and resources flowing throughout this period of uncertainty.

Today, we honor the 81st anniversary of D-Day, the daring assault that broke through Nazi defenses in Europe. Supported by relentless @USNavy firepower, @USMC and @USArmy fought bravely on Normandy’s beaches. We remember their courage and sacrifice, a legacy that inspires every generation answering the call.

.@SecNav is wheels up to the Indo-Pacific for his first international trip.

Thank you to the Special Agents of @RealNCIS Carolinas & Marine MPs for executing this mission, I appreciate all your hard work.
