Jane Doe and Kendall Francis are not alone. 1 in 4 women experience sexual violence while in college.
And Trump’s Dept of Ed. is doing nothing to address it. In fact, they have gutted the very Office tasked with enforcing Title IX and formally reinstated regulations that weaken protections for survivors. We are demanding an investigation. Women deserve better.
@RepDexterOR , @RepBonamici , @RepTeresaLF & @RepMarkTakano led more than 90 House Democrats in a letter to the Office of the Inspector General today. We will keep fighting.

Public schools are facing increased challenges across the country. From tighter budgets to learning setbacks, Congress needs to act to support students, teachers, & families.
That’s why I’m supporting legislation to make historic investments in K-12 education to ensure our kids have a brighter future.

Today is the anniversary of Medicare and Medicaid.
How does the Trump administration respond?
Cutting these taxpayer benefits to make it harder for you to get healthcare.
Time for the extremists to go.

John Lewis was more than our esteemed friend and colleague, he was a force to be reckoned with and a powerful civil rights champion. His work is not finished, and neither are we. House Democrats will keep making good trouble, necessary trouble, in pursuit of a more perfect union.

I'm joining @RepBonamici in calling for the #impeachment of Education Secretary and former WWE head Linda McMahon.
From firing the staffers who support special education to attempting to destroy the Department itself, McMahon has proven to be unfit and unqualified to support America's students.

Under Trump’s Department of Education, not a single student survivor has received a resolution for cases on sexual abuse or sexual harassment.
This administration is ignoring Title IX, and survivors are facing the consequences. Survivors deserve a government that will advocate for them—not protect their abusers.

Secretary McMahon has violated federal law and betrayed students, families, and educators. It's time for her to go.

I am co-sponsoring articles of impeachment against Secretary of Education Linda McMahon with @RepBonamici.
She was never qualified to lead the Department of Education, and every decision she has made in office has reinforced that reality. She has launched baseless attacks on our schools and universities, worked to undermine and defund public education, and been a driving force behind Donald Trump's cruel and reckless agenda.
Our children deserve better. Our educators deserve better. The American people deserve better. Secretary McMahon needs to be removed from office.

Dept. of Education Sec. McMahon is a disaster for students, teachers, and families, taking a sledgehammer to the Department of Education.
Her illegal actions have made 90% of American students attending public schools more vulnerable.
Today, @RepBonamici and I filed articles of impeachment.
