Proship - Pro Shipper. Ship and let ship. It's the philosophy supporting the right to create and consume any fiction without harassment or censorship. As long as real people aren't harmed in the making of the material, you do you boo-boo!
Antiship - refers to someone who opposes specific romantic pairings in fiction or rejects the practice of shipping altogether. The ideology is used to police creative freedom, push moral censorship, and justify online harassment or doxing against creators who write dark or taboo fiction. Antishipper = Insufferable Assholes and morons!
Darkship - a fictional romantic or sexual pairing between characters that features morally problematic, taboo, or disturbing dynamicsโsuch as abuse, toxic manipulation, severe age gaps, or incest and so on. This absolutely does not mean the actions in these ships are condoned in real life, and are instead explored within the safety of fiction.
Lightship - An informal term used by some to describe "anti-darkship" or vanilla/safe shipping preferences.
Comship - "complicated ship," used for unconventional or mismatched dynamics (such as mortal/immortal or cross-species) rather than inherently abusive ones.
Darkships and comships both have overlap, but they are two different things. Some ships can be both darkships and comships.
Liking =/= Endorsement.
Just because you like some taboo ships (abuse x abuser, 10+ yr age gaps) does not mean you like or enjoy (incest or pedophile ships)

I wanna be clear that the problem with the selfie trend is not that itโs somehow inherently bad for people to post their bodies or be proud of their bodies. Being happy with your body is good, Iโm very happy for you if that is how you feel.
The problem is only that itโs being done to โdisproveโ that they are fat & (by implication) less valuable. This creates an implied dichotomy that thin or fit= hot/good & fat= ugly/bad. Because if what was said about us being fat were true the implication is that it would be insulting to be called fat.
But firstly, size does not determine how attractive someone is & moreover physical appearance does not determine intrinsic worth. All people are equally valuable regardless of whether they are attractive or not. This is something that takes a long time to unlearn & I donโt want people to feel embarrassed or ashamed if this did not occur to them.
I donโt think people are doing this intentionally, I think some people have blindspots that make them more susceptible to making this unintentional conflation, & I want to be so delicate about this because body image is a deeply personal, very sensitive thing for many people regardless their size or body shape.
I donโt want you feel bad if you did this, just want to take the opportunity to explain why people are reacting negatively to it. No hate just something to consider.

I cannot stress enough that AO3 won't exist forever. Smth will happen to it and millions upon millions of works are going to be lost bc of it and those few fanfics saved for personal use are going to be the only remnants of AO3 and it's work.
