One of the most powerful missile attacks on Kyiv in recent memory. Dozens of explosions. Russian missiles are hitting various parts of the city tonight.
It seems Witkoff was negotiating not peace in Moscow, but more strikes on Ukraine. After his visit, "humanist" Putin became even more furious in his killing.

I don't believe that Musk turned off Starlink to Ukraine at his own sole initiative. I believe Trump is implicated up to his painted eyebrows. But if it should be true that Musk did it - then Starlink and Space X must be nationalized by the US government immediately.

All indications are that U.S. is heading back to war. The next round could be larger and more devastating for Iran but also for the Middle East. It may not be the end of the conflict but the start of a broader unraveling for the region with lasting consequences for the global economy as well. Washington and Israel want to knock out Iran with bigger blows but likelihood of that is low. There will be a lot of devastation before there is an end in sight
Iran says it is preparing to unveil a weapon called the “father of all bombs”, amid reports Trump has ordered plans for strikes on Iran’s energy infrastructure using the “mother of all bombs”, the largest non-nuclear bomb in the US arsenal.

You’d think big dick toilet guy would have some balls. Nobody in Trump’s strongman pro-Russia regime has the balls to own their Starlink debacle. As if Musk suddenly found 🤨TOS violations🤨the same week Trump takes a bunch of actions to aid Putin & cripple Ukrainian defenses.
NATO Ambassador Matt Whitaker on Starlink: "They are a private company. Obviously they have terms of use that are applied to all of their customers, including the Ukrainians. I think it is more of a dispute along those lines than anybody in this administration trying to change how Starshield or Starlink is used."

True. Imagine if the CEO of Boeing during WW2 ensured that his bombers, which included the B17 and B29, could only fly over allies and not enemy countries. The excuse making over the Starlink issue is pathetic and overflowing in moral cowardice.

Very helpful thread, have been puzzling over this for days🧵
There has been much in the news recently about the SpaceX provided systems known as STARLINK and STARSHIELD. So what are they and what differences are there, and why is it in the news? Here’s a useful summary: defensenews.com/industry/tec… but let’s try and make it simple. 🧵1/9

🧵McCarthy calls bull on Rubio/Hegseth claims Musk must have unilaterally throttled Starlink/Starshield in Ukraine. Why did the Trump admin declare Anthropic a Supply Chain Risk? “Because, as both Hegseth and Trump inveighed, it would be intolerable for the U.S. armed forces engaged in battlefield operations to be subject to the whims of tech executives providing vital services….So dedicated to this proposition are the president, the secretary, the intelligence services, and the Justice Department that the administration is still fighting Anthropic in federal courts in Northern California and Washington, D.C.
The Starshield controversy presents the same situation. The implication that the administration would cede decision-making about how technology is deployed on the battlefield to Musk, an unelected tech executive, is ridiculous — to say nothing of the fact that it would undermine the government’s defense of the SCR designation in the Anthropic litigation.”

We have to think about collapsing Trump poll numbers and Rs turning on him the same way we'd think about finally being able to corner a rabid raccoon in your garage. Good news: he's out of options. Bad news: he's a rabid raccoon.
😳 Trump loses it and SNAPS at a string of reporters, says Ilhan Omar might "go to jail," calls Somalia "a shit house," and boasts that thanks to a new program he announced today Americans "will make millions of dollars by turning others in" during absolutely deranged Oval Office event

I have read dozens of outraged posts because the US special envoy Witkoff called Putin a "humanist." But no one is writing about the fact that the American negotiators are simply not doing their job. Let me explain.
Peace negotiations are important in their own right. Even if they do not lead to a lasting peace, the process itself is an opportunity to resolve urgent humanitarian issues. If, of course, the human dimension is a priority for the negotiators. But it is entirely obvious that neither Witkoff nor Kushner cares about people's fates in this war.
The Pope calls on Putin to save thousands of people from starvation in occupied Oleshky and the surrounding villages. The UN speaks about a humanitarian catastrophe and asks Russia to allow the evacuation of the civilian population. European Parliament Vice-President Pina Picierno goes on a hunger strike to draw attention to this tragedy unfolding before the eyes of the whole world.
And what are Witkoff and Kushner doing?
That's right, almost nothing.
Except for passing along greetings from Putin’s aide to the First Lady.
Thousands of people are already eating grass to survive and begging to save their lives. The Ukrainian side raises the issue of Oleshky at every meeting. And I can name dozens of such urgent humanitarian issues off the top of my head where American negotiators must be proactive.
Trump’s peace negotiations have already gone down in history as the deadliest years for Ukraine’s civilian population since the start of the full-scale invasion.
I don’t know if anyone will remember the names of Witkoff and Kushner.
But history will certainly record how American negotiators, who had the opportunity to save a huge number of people, refused to raise uncomfortable questions before "humanist Putin."

A ceasefire along the existing line would be a solid basis to end the war. Trump once proposed it. @ZelenskyyUa has accepted it (again). Putin refuses. Therefore, the US should put pressure on Russia to accept Trump's good idea. (Now that wasn't so hard...)
Zelensky says Ukraine could accept a peace deal that freezes the war along the current front line, calling a ceasefire the minimum expected from Russia. He also says US early-warning intelligence on Russian ballistic attacks is working again after talks with Marco Rubio. Starlink and Starshield capabilities remain restricted, but Zelensky says Rubio and his team are working to resolve the issue. #Ukraine

Having seen the extraordinary damage done to the massive Russian army by undermanned Ukrainians... on the roads, bridges and airports in the opening hours. I can confidently say this event will be taught in military colleges for centuries to come. iwm.org.uk/history/contempor…
Lately, the President of the United States has been repeating a claim almost every day, which he believes is the main reason why the Russians failed to capture Kyiv in three days:
“The Russians had a thousand tanks moving along a concrete highway.
They would have been in Ukraine in four hours if they had been traveling at a tank’s maximum speed — exactly 48 miles per hour. Nothing could have stopped them. The war would have been over in one day.
And this very stupid general — I have no idea who he is.
He decided to turn right into farmland and then left toward Kyiv, instead of staying on the highway. On the concrete highway, a perfectly good road, where everything was going very well for them.
Another three and a half to four hours, and the whole war would have been over.
But eventually, they got stuck in the mud.”
They say Donald Trump is given news and briefings on sheets of paper with pictures on them so that the president of the world’s most powerful country can get up to speed more quickly.
We hope this post reaches at least one US government official who can print out and show him photographs of Russian columns destroyed by Ukrainian defenders. This was made possible, in part, by Javelins supplied to Ukraine by the American people — for which we are sincerely grateful — not Trump, shortly before Russia’s full-scale invasion.
One of the world’s “most powerful” armies, backed by a nuclear power, was stopped by Ukrainian defenders armed with old Soviet-era equipment, a handful of Javelins, and a few Bayraktar drones.
While almost all of our Western “partners” were betting on Kyiv falling within mere dozens of hours, Ukrainian defenders did the impossible, burning Russian columns and killing the invaders.
Ukraine stood firm. And it still stands today.
And no Putin sympathizer who is merely passing through — whether the US president or anyone else — will ever be able to rewrite history in Russia’s favor.
The truth is on our side.
Thank you for sharing our material. It matters.

JD picks up the Trump mantle and stakes it all on MAGA. I love it for him.
JD Vance just held an outrageous news conference in which he defended Ramaswamy's vile attacks on Amy Acton, agreed with Steve Witkoff's assessment of Putin as a "humanitarian," and had the gall to claim "there is no person who hates the idea of people enriching themselves fraudulently over access to the government than Donald J Trump"
