In the end, the writing is on the wall—properly displayed in percentages.
It begs the obvious question: what is it about YOU that produced this performance? Why is it that you have lost almost half of your vote share? Yes, YOU!
As I have said before, go argue with the wall.
As for me, I did abstain. A deliberate, conscientious abstention.
The right to abstain is not limited to parliament or council sessions. It is very much constitutional, and available to all citizens—especially those who DO register to vote!
That our voter registration increases by millions every time is a sign of genuine interest. When they do not show up to vote, after turning out to register, they may very well be refusing to choose between different versions of failure!
Voting MUST NEVER be a conscription; it is a right that comes with responsibility—one that can’t be deployed without conscience.
Above all, NO ONE is entitled to people's votes. VOTES are earned, just like respect. To say otherwise is the gospel according to dictators.
How else can we explain that Mandela campaigned in 1994 and lost both KZN and Western Cape, yet Mbeki won both 10 years later? They earned the votes through results on the ground by improving the living standards of our people. They were NOT ENTITLED to them!
Those who protest by deliberately not voting or deliberately spoiling their vote are exercising as sacred a right as the right to vote! A true revolutionary should know that, and would listen to them, for they too have registered a view!
It is in line with this spirit—the letter of which is in the Constitution, that 'every citizen is free to make political choices'—that Ronnie Kasrils, alongside Barney Pityana and others, in 2014 called on people to protest by spoiling their vote.
I’m sure you’ll agree, these are stalwarts of the anti-apartheid movement. They understood that no one—NOT even their own comrades—is ENTITLED to votes.
But first, go to the wall, brother. There, the measure of your weight is fully determined."

Only an idiot would reason like this. You haven’t gotten than much further, the ANC has vastly regressed & in that regression, someone else has captured the lion’s share & it hasn’t been the DA. Do you not understand numbers?
Border control doesn't end at the border brother. Never thought I'd see the EFF take up DA talking points
Border control and immigration policy are National Government responsibilities.
A municipality and/or Ward Councillor does not have any power to control our borders nor order deportations.
The people of South Africa will soon discover that political parties which campaigned on those promises in the Local Government Elections promised powers that municipalities do not possess.
All these dishonest parties simply played with the emotions and vulnerabilities of our people.
Voting is done now. The question you must ask the party you voted for is; will they close the border? The answer is NO!
It has now become a mental health issue for Mr Malema; he says we want to kill him, for what? We want him to sober up & smell the coffee; illegal immigration is a crime, whether he likes it or not. The EFF help desk must consider therapy for him. In 2029 EFF will be 2%, or below
WATCH
EFF leader Julius Malema has defiantly rejected calls for him to step down following the party’s drop to 6.25% in the 2026 local government elections, declaring that those seeking his removal want to destroy the EFF and will have to “kill him first.”

As coalition negotiations get underway, ActionSA is committed to a transparent and fair process that respects the voters’ mandate and seeks to establish stable and effective governments.
We have just concluded our engagement with the ANC. In all engagements with political parties, ActionSA will uphold its non-negotiable principles and keep voters’ interests at the centre of every decision.
ActionSA’s Gauteng Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) met yesterday, 7 November 2026, to assess our performance in the Local Government Elections and discuss the political situation emerging across the province.
The PEC welcomed the progress ActionSA has made since the 2021 elections and thanked the people of Gauteng who came out and voted for our party.
On coalition negotiations, the PEC reaffirmed its commitment to the framework adopted by ActionSA’s Senate on 23 October 2026.
Our position is that we are prepared to talk to any political party. But we will not enter into agreements simply to be part of government.

Planting trees 🌳 is very important. We breath trees. As much as we are constructing this land, we need not be wise not to destroy the environment. You did well there Queen 👸
Dr Ndlozi has properly responded to Malema; eventually, the bully receives a slap from the victim.

Herman Mashaba was dealing with hijacked buildings when he was the DA mayor of JHB.
As mayor you can also instruct the metro police and MMC to clamp down on illegals.
Isn't that what Tshwaku is trying to do as an EFF MMC in Joburg???

While this sounds good, the DA has been incharge of Cape Town for years yet non of this has ever happened. Actually Cape Town does not only have an alcohol problem has to be the drug capital of this country. The problem is across the race. Even in my neighborhood there is a garden for residents and I have often seen teenagers using. The problem is across races.
