There’s a bizzare and somewhat dangerous narrative building across society that if a social entity wasn’t considered “good” 20 - 30 years ago that it can’t be “good” now. In a footballing context, it’ll all lead back to The Super League.

To me this is horrible but not just because I agree with her politically. It’s just the idea of a country wide ban for any author is bad and borderline fascist. I chose not to buy Neil Gaiman’s work because he’s a rapist but I still think banning his books would be bad.

I know people are worried about fuel prices. And I get it. You get to the pump, watch the numbers climb, and wonder why it's costing so much more than it used to.   The reality is that global events are pushing up costs, and families here at home are feeling the impact.   But I won't accept that there's nothing I can do to help.   That's why from today, you'll be able to see petrol and diesel prices on Google Maps, compare nearby stations and find the cheapest option before you fill up.   It's a small change, but if there's a practical way to help people keep more money in their pocket, I'll do it.

Manchester City cheated Premier League rules, the Commission found. Did it also cheat HMRC? We've examined the decision and leaked Mancini documents. We think City likely failed to pay £12m in tax. There should be a criminal investigation. Thread:

Lawyers on £400,000 a week couldn’t defend a single charge of 115 BUT fear not, mcscotty808 has “read the majority of the documents” and has found holes in the case! A lifeline here for Manchester City!
So I've read the majority of the 40 page documents and there's more holes in it than a second hand dart board the whole fucking thing is just a mess i fear this will drag on for another 2 years and will only end with a high court ruling in the meantime fans and players will be abused on a daily basis I'm still leaning towards just taking the punishment then we can move forward i appreciate not many feel this way

The pensioners who are kicking off about the triple lock just confirm their lack of self awareness and selfishness. Pensions running at a deficit since introduced. This is a generation sitting on final salary schemes, early retirement, huge asset values but want more and more

You're still thinking about the artificially inflated revenue by more than £900m over a nine-year period aren't you

1/ Those new @afcbournemouth parking charges are scandalous, even with a 40% discount for disabled fans it’s £15pm. That’s almost as much as a wheelchair season ticket costs ps. It’s not like there’s even any decent accessible public transport options and Avonbourne is too far…
