#hotoffthebench Justice Nyaundi has ordered a police officer to personally pay the Petitioner constitutional damages and costs for unlawfully detaining the Petitioner’s lorry and persisting in defending that illegality. Follows Mosigisi Kimeiwa precedent Personal responsibility!

Harambee stars vs Taifa stars would have slapped
Celebrating 2 European teams launching a debt funded stadium on our soil is diabolical. It should have been Harambee Stars and a national team from anywhere. So doleful.

MAUMAU made sure we should always put us the black people first. Low racial self esteem should never be allowed to permiate the Kenyan consciousness. Put the Kenyan first... So Harambee stars vs Gor Mahia Prostitutes wa Wazungu

Actually, any team that wouldn't need millions to play would have been fine. These guys are so used to handling billions that money doesn't mean anything to them. We ukilia ati maziwa imepanda haelewi unaishi dunia gani. What's the point ya hii game na tuko na madeni?

Is our money being used to pay two teams from Netherlands and Germany to play in Kenya? Ama are they volunteering their time? Because they better not be getting paid by Kenya or they better be getting paid by their governments. Not by overburdened Kenyan taxpayers.

Exactly, or at least another local team. How is this a celebration that has people attacking anyone who questions these choices?

So loud for a man who keeps reminding us about African solutions. 2 European teams playing on our soil shouldn't be news. Ajinice though.
Prime Sportpesa brought Everton to play at Kasarani. This shouldn't be something requiring a presidential address!

The gaslighting from the regime over KPC is insane. Nobody is complaining about foreign investment. We are asking why the state artificially suppressed share valuations so a billionaire could acquire a 25% stake at a throwaway price. Don't twist accountability into "noise".

Shukrani sana kwa majirani wakenya! 🇰🇪 My experience since I had to flee home has been that Kenyans are special - and the reason we will be safe is because of the People of Kenya - please never change your spirit! Mnapenda sana Haki na mko tayari kumpambania mtu hata kama hamumjui! One day I hope I can pay this forward even if I can never repay everyone for their help, hospitality! The day I write my biography it will make more sense! For now we FIGHT ON! Aluta continua!

As a long term measure , let’s start dualling Mombasa road. It has heavy traffic and this will just keep recurring. We already did 80km the 400km can be done in phases say 50km a year. We can finish within 8 years.

Sifuna and Kang'ata on paper seem like such a dream pairing. Ideologically, though, they are quite different. If they ever became president and deputy, they would need a concrete priority plan on nation building. If you read Kangata's articles, there is an emphasis on capital accumulation, productivity, manufacturing and building large Kenyan corporations capable of competing globally. Very Kibaki-esque. He also has rather socially conservative views. Sifuna, on the other hand, emphasis is on constitutionalism, the rule of law, accountability, reducing government wastage and relieving the economic burden on ordinary citizens. If you listen closely, infrastructure and economic development mean little if citizens cannot enjoy their constitutional rights, afford basic necessities or access functioning public services. Like a young James Orengo. Kang’ata seems to be more interested in how the country creates wealth. Sifuna is more interested in how the state wields its power, manages public resources and serves its citizens. I think both men mean well for the country, but those differences become important when you move from political philosophy to actual governance. They have a priority problem. A nation needs both the capacity to create wealth and institutions that prevent that wealth from being captured by a few. Agreeing on what kind of Kenya you want is the easy part. The kizungumkuti is agreeing on what must be sacrificed, funded or postponed to build it.
