I’m starting with the defense, because they’ve played well enough for this team to be a contender. They forced IU into 6 punts, 1 INT (Hoover’s 1st of the year), and allowed 6 points in regulation. Six! JHD knocks down a screen attempt on IU’s opening drive.

Michigan is 33rd power conference team since 2000 to allow 20 points or fewer in each of the first 7 games of a season. They are the only one to lose 3 of those games. The other 32 combined for 11 losses with 2019 Iowa the only other with even 2

Michigan’s defense gave up 6 regulation points and pitched a 2nd half shut out against the 6th ranked team. Incomprehensible how Michigan lost. We have seen some bad Michigan offenses but the 2026 group is truly special. Jason Beck should be fired and be forced to apologize.
